good question I do this all the time and am not sure but feel better.. podcasts say overall extremely beneficial ..no reference to cancer .. but it is like exercising as your core body temperature is lowered and you burn calories for a duration of time afterwards .. seems stressful to body and a response ..I’m sure if in hormone therapy it’s good .. as I feel much better .. looking forward to responses ..

Agreed. I do the "Nordic Cycle" (hot/cold) simply to feel better. There is no mystery to its basic effects - it is meant to "stimulate your circulation, relieve sore muscles and joints, and improve blood flow to the skin." I use the cycle to complement routine exercise.

With respect to cancer, it has been long known that tumors control local perfusion (the local fluid flow through the capillary network responsible for the transport of oxygen, nutrients, and waste products) to outcompete healthy cells. For reference to this topic and others, check out this great paper from 2015:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

This paper shows how clever cancers are in hijacking existing physiological systems to survive, and gives broad-brush insight into these complicated mechanisms.

My ultimate thought is this: Any simple activity that can reinforce a normal, effective circulation also helps transport oxygen, nutrients, and waste products to and from where they should be and gives my healthy cells a chance to outcompete my cancer. - Joe M.

It can't have any effect because your body's thermoregulatory mechanism kicks in and pumps warm blood.

I researched this myself and was disappointed to find no support for cold showers.

There is all kinds of info out there on this. Nothing cancer related but there are benefits to this for other health items. One article of many. Do your own research. Make your own decisions. Dont be lazy and ask what others think.

I live in a cold winterclimate, first thing in the morning half dressed go out feed the birds and my rabbits. and yes when I come in I am wide awake and ready for a hot follow up shower. Spent good part of my life sitting in a treestand enduring cold temps, been there.
