"Two Invitae CHEK2 variants of "unknown consequence""

Hello - My Hopkins MO says this genetics test indicates a weakness (CHEK2 is one of the 4 or 5 PCa related variants) he thinks this could have contributed to my premature, two year BCR after RP, so he will likely prescribe chemo sooner than later though PSA will be the prime indicator. Further he suggested a genetic counselor so we have waited 3 months and have an appt Jan 16. Has anyone changed their treatment plans based on genetic suspicions? Thx

Maybe. When the variants are of known significance, PARP inhibitors may be somewhat effective.
