severe neck pain

I’m a couple of months in on eligard,abiraterone and prednisone(5mg). Mercifully I’m relatively SE free at this point but know it’s early…..what I DO have after the first few weeks is a chronically stiff neck that makes it impossible to move my head to the right…..Wondering if anyone has ever heard of this associated with any of these meds…..I realize there are multiple possible reasons for such pain but nothing has changed in my daily routine besides this……seems curious that it happened contemporaneous with beginning ADT…..thoughts? Experiences?

Haven't heard of this nor have I experienced in 7+ years taking those drugs.

Do you sleep with a fan blowing on you at night due to hot flashes or just plain feeling hot?I do and I can get stiff, especially the neck.

I only get mild hot flushes so far…..nothing that requires a fan. Thank you for responding.

Whilst on Prostap (lupron) and Xtandi, I did get a stiff neck for a while and could turn it very far in either direction. After a time it cleared itself so I don't know what the cause was.

You are the second person who mentioned xtandi and stiff neck…..glad it cleared up.

I've had lymph node metastases in neck, which vanished after ADT and heat therapy (read my bio). I don't know what your cause of neck pain is but it sounds more severe than mine was...perhaps a strain.

I took viagra once and all I got was a stiff neck.

I had a similar reaction on xtandi. Could not turn my neck either direction . Really painful and made it hard to drive safely. Stopped xtandi took and Aleve and it was gone the next day. I still can't explain but I reduced my xtandi dose and symptoms have not returned

I have a similar problem although not as severe. Mine responds remarkably well to Aleve or ibuprofen. I understand that these drugs increase the pain you get from osteoarthritis. I have a number of aches and pains that started with therapy. I am coming off the meds next month so it willl be interesting to see if it gets better.

unfortunately NSAIDS have screwed with my kidneys and I can’t use them any longer…..maybe flexeril if this keeps up for another week or so…thanks for responding.

I'm new to advanced PC; just started on Orgovyx and have a very painful neck. An Xray and MRI showed stenosis and other forms of wear and tear, plus some cancer. The radiologist doesn't think the cancer is the cause of the pain. However, I'm 86, and have led a very active life.

I too have stenosis and OA in my neck but the severe pain only began after beginning ADT…..could be pure coincidence but that’s why I’m asking the group.
