Hello! I am here for Dad. He just completed twenty rounds of radiation.. but not without complications. He had several bouts of extreme afib, heart attack, and low platelets.
Since having another stent, new AFib meds, and two units of blood he has completed radiation but it's still so very weak. He's 82, so I know it goes with the territory, but Dad's usually a tough guy. Is this normal for radiation?
I've updated my profile to share his entire history.
I'm just worried that this is the new normal.. I'd love to hear that strength and energy returns with time. Is that possible?
Thanks so much!

Im 66, and all I wanted to do after the 4th week, is go home and sleep.
It took a few weeks to get better.
As TA stated, exercise. I forced my self to exercise in the AM before radiation. Then forced myself to start resistance exercise in the afternoon.
Funny thing, I was at the hospital today, and walked up to the 4th floor parking via stairs. Thats the equivalent of 8 stories in an apartment building or office. I wasn't even breathless. YES, it gets better!!!!
