I would like to know about the side effects based on some of your experiences. Thanks

I’ve been on NUBEQA for 10 months, I’ve noted no additional side effects over and above what I’m already having from the Lupron.

NUBEQA is supposedly the most side effect friendly of the current round of AR inhibitors.

I’ve been on it for about 15 months and have the same experience.

Approximately 5% of Nubeqa serum drug amounts cross the blood brain barrier. Xtandi is around 30% and Erleada is around 25%. Hence, we see less side effects with Nubeqa. However, everyone expresses them differently.

If you are particularly hard hit by Nubeqa, it might be worthwhile to ask your MO if you could give Xtandi or Erleada a try. Another one is Zytiga. Zytiga is a different class of drug but is frequently used in a similar fashion.

My husband is on NUBEQA… in a clinical trial but also on Lupron. It seems no better or worse. But hard to tell due to taking Lupron also!

nubeqa is next up for me; can you give me some idea about costs?

I don’t know. We have universal health care here but I read on the box (28 days treatment) the the price is almost 6000 eur, so more than 6,000 usd

Are you on Medicare or commercial insurance?

With commercial insurance it’s effectively free because Bayer, the manufacturer, will give you a co-pay card to cover your copay.

Yes, I'm on Medicare -- so no help from Bayer, at least as I read it. Many thanks.

Bayer has a foundation that provides Nubeqa at no charge if you meet income requirements (less than $90,000/year I believe). Pretty straightforward application process. Otherwise, I think it might cost around $12,000/year under Medicare since it’s a specialty drug with the highest co-pay.

Originally diagnosed in 2017.

Started Nubeqa 11/2019 in addition to Lupron which I have been taking since 2017, remained undetectable for two years. Have recently had 5 infusions of Pluvicto (6th in two weeks), continued Lupron and Nubeqa.

Very little side effects with Nubeqa, very mild fatigue at times which maybe more attributable to the Lupron. The plus of Nubeqa is that it does not cross blood brain barrier as others drugs do; so very little brain fog if any at all.

Best Wishes to you – Stay strong.

Had none. But failed after about 8 months. But no side effects.

Started Nubeqa Aug 2022 after first FDA approval for hormone sensitive during chemo/taxotere. Went castrate resistant May 2023. No side effects, but it didn't work. Cost was quoted to my insurance as $12000/month, but as others mentioned, manufacturer co-pay left me with zero out of pocket.

I had no side effects but sadly it also didn’t work for me. Don’t know if that’s correlated.

Started approximately 3 months ago....... Only side effect is my pee smells like a mixing Vat at Bayers (can only assume).............. Cost for Nubeq*a (they couldn't afford the letter *U) is if Bayer paid you to drink the whole Vat daily (can only assume). Using an authorized pin ball machine my psa bumped up a bit. (BTW still getting Lupron shot every 3 months).....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

No discernible side effects after one year. I’m also on Lupron and have had four Pluvicto treatments. Make sure you take Nubeqa with food as that is supposed to increase effectiveness.

I've been on it for 8 months. Some fatigue and soreness in both thighs. Difficulty in staying asleep but that may be due to the Lupron shot.
