I love MaleCare and HealthUnlocked! I found after searching. Visit every day now. Fantastic moderation and fantastic contributions.
However I find that the user interface could be better. Much better. I have been involved a little bit with forums and I realize the complexity behind it.
There's a well-known forum in another geography; they just spent a lot of money to update it. And it's still crummy.
But in HU I find the tagging is difficult. And so I haven't bothered to use it to search or to tag.
It's not even 100% clear how to improve - but I find keeping track of things and more deeply engaging in dialogues - and maybe curating topics I'm interested in - is not intuitive or obvious. Some of the functionality just plain missing.
So I do what I think a lot of people do and just look at the latest in the feed and read the items I'm interested in. And maybe like or respond. But it's kind of a surface engagement. It's like skimming the tips of the waves every day.
The opportunity for building up a deeper knowledge base of questions and people seems to be missing.
Thank you for considering my concerns here! Keep up the good work!

Oh wow. I think my brain was working a little slow. I just realized that you and Daryl therefore must be tenants, not necessarily a bad thing. Or maybe it's like a co-op or something. A lot of fingers in the pie. So let's just leave it at that and say "thanks Male Care", good job. See you tomorrow. (BTW I made a Trust Pilot Recommend.)
Malecare is the 25 year old national nonprofit that started and runs this and many other prostate cancer communities. We are friends and colleagues with the Healthunlocked founders. Healthunlocked is a platform that we use.
Thanks J - this forum RULES but indeed has its issues. The search in particular doesn't seem to work all that well (or maybe I just don't know how to use it). But the people here are awesome.
