My husband, 60, just got an MRI report that stated aggressive metastatic prostate carcinoma >15 that spread to bladder and anus walls. We have an appointment with the urologist in 3 days. This feels so hopeless. Symptoms have been difficulty urinating mostly. PSA ranging 5-7 over the past month. IS THERE HOPE?

Please let us know when you get more detailed info. Take notes or record the conversation.
I know it is hard, but you have to be systematic and take notes during consultation. If possible, have consult from COE.
Plenty of things to do, it is serious but not immediately fatal. Many on here have had worse diagnosis and lived for years. Get a medical oncologist on your team if Urologist does not refer you to one seek one out yourself at a center of excellence.
There is always hope! And if you've spent any time on this forum, you've seen men with more dire-sounding stories, still fighting decades later. Many new approaches have arisen in recent years, and more will come along in the near future. Stay positive, aggressively pursue the best doctors, hospitals, and treatments available, and never give up!
As an aside, what does ">15" mean in your post?
Urologists are great for surgery. See a MO so they can do the surgery correctly.
Prepare yourself for more testing (Biopsy, PSMA scan) and likely a referral to a radiation oncologist. There is a lot to learn but as others have said this is a beatable disease.
Let us know your progress.
The good news is, you found this place. Try to be diligent in your note taking. I prefer to actually record the appointments for reference later. There will be a lot of information, and there is a learning curve. You may even feel like you’re learning a new language. I know I did!
These guys here will steer you the right direction. Many men here with advanced disease living a very long time with this. It is serious, but there is hope.
I’m sorry you and your love have joined this club. Try to find things to be thankful for for each day and be in the moment as much as possible. I wish you all the best in your journey. Deep breaths. You are both in my thoughts. One problem at a time, one day at a time. There really is hope! 💙
