If you are taking antiarrhythmic medications particularly Sotalol, you should check with your cardiologist, since this drug prolongs the QT interval.

Thanks for the info…i am taking propafenone (Rhymol) and a beta blocker…
tango65, I am on propafenone and shouldn’t have started orgovyx. I began on Thursday 4/20 and took the second pill the next day. On Saturday i had a “bad reaction”…I started to have sharp pains on my left side. I realized that the sharp pains were heart related. I stopped taking it on Saturday and haven’t felt any pain since…Every body is different; however, it isn’t the right treatment for me. Could be related to having atrial fibrillation and aflutter. I am feeling fine today…
If you have sharp pain in the left side of your chest you realized were heart related you should go to the ER. You should consult with your cardiologist or PCP ASAP.
It probably has the least effect on afib of any ADT medication.
Read that it could change the electrical activity of your
heart (QT prolongation)…
That's not afib
…Atrial fibrillation can cause an abnormal heart rhythm…and one of the side effects of orgovyx can be prolonged QT interval which occurs when the cells of the ventricles (the lower chambers of the heart) don’t electrically reset at the same time or take longer than normal to reset. This can cause an arrhythmia, or abnormal heart rhythm, which can be potentially lethal. I learned the hard way!
One chief advantage to Orgovyx over injected ADT drugs - if you start having heart issues, you can just stop taking the Orgovyx and it will quickly clear your system. Once injected w/Lupron (e.g.) you can't suck it out if you start getting issues. For me I have Brugada syndrome and my cardiologist & MO agreed that Orgovyx was safest for that reason alone. I also went in for weekly EKGs for the first month as a further precaution. I never had any issues.
I was on Orgovyx for 55 weeks with no issues.
Been taking for 2 years and no issues related to AFIB...my MO has never talked about that being a side effect either...I highly recommend switching to Orgovyx from Lupron is you're able...good luck
Orgovyx (antagonist ADT drug) has documentation indicating less cardiac impact. I suggest you and your doctor review the literature.
Seriously speak with your Cardiologist. This drug is a monster.
Thanks for all of your comments…will be deciding about it after talking with my oncologist….If it doesn’t work well i can always discontinue taking it…
Had open heart surgery in 2021, prostate cancer 2022 had high does of radiation in June and July of 2022 my OC put me on Orgovyx because it was the safest for heart patients. I think you will do fine on it. Been on it a year no problems except hot flashes! Good luck and wish you well.
JP Good to hear about your circumstances! Thanks,,,
It has been my experience that my cardiologist doesn’t know how ADT interacts directly with heart issues…Possibly with orgovyx specifically!
Appreciate everyone’s comments above.
I started orgovyx on Thursday 4/20 and had a “ bad reaction”. Second pill on Friday and had sharp pains on the left side of body. I attribute it to the orgovyx since i had nothing else differently…the pains were heart related.
It could be due to having atrial fibrillation and aflutter. I didn’t take it on Saturday and feel today Sunday…I don’t think it is the treatment for me…
