I was setting up a QOL foodie post with 3 kinds of ceviche , 3 kinds of salsas, and two kinds of chips.
have tamales and beans and rice I could have added in as well. The star of the post would have been shooters - sipping a collectable $2000 bottle of Tesla Tequila ( grossly overpriced due to the name, a gift to me tho … ) even the empty bottle is … was worth $400 as a collectable and the Tesla sipping glasses are worth $150.
So while setting everything up for photos, the oddball Tesla bottle / stand took a nosedive on the counter , broke open, spilling ALL the contents on the counter, lost forever. Oooooooh noooooooo , yayaya yayayayaya. Prolly would have given me a headache anyway …. Dang nab it. 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫 this foodie irony for fun .
Oh well ….. win a few, lose a few … whatever.
love ya brothers
❤️❤️❤️

that link was for a $1200 bottle. The Tesla run included a few - bunch of “ unnumbered “ original bottles ….. those sell in the $1200 range. Mine was an original numbered bottle ( around 376 or their abouts , destroyed in the accident ). Original run numbered bottles sell in the $1800 to $2400 range depending upon how pristine the box and literature is. Even my box got ruined , soaked with booze yayahahahaya. This was a gift but that doesn’t diminish the magnitude of the screw up for sure. No different than dropping a bottle of ‘61 Chateau Rothschild Bordeaux on the floor ( of course I’m not actually comparing the two .. yayahahahaya and the Rothschild would cost more )
It’s just the thought ….. anyone can easily buy the $140 bottle of Nosotros anejo ( casa maestri ) tequila and have the same exact booze. I like the silvers for shots better than the anejo anyway.
Oh crap that the box got soaked too. LoL, my taste buds are a lil shot probs from all those chemos, so expensive liquor, even $140 one, would be wasted on me
Oh, my that really stinks. Well, look at the bright side… You win the award for the greatest party foul in the history of party fouls. You’re a winner! 🥇
too much tiny bits of broken glass, even got on floor and cut our feet. Plus …… I hate the taste of dryer fabric softener, ….. when you try to sop it up with a dish towel, wring it into a glass and drink it . Yuck ……..
yayahahahaya…. No kidding on that Patron. I like silver way better than anejo …. anejo is an acquired taste I guess. Plus , for me, that Nosotros isn’t anything to crow about IMHO. Nosotros ( casa maestri ) filled Teslas bottles.
yea … some patron silver , coarse sea salt … limes … yummmmm. I have a tin of that lime flavored sea salt for glass rims. …. that I put on the back of my hand when I down a shooter. It has the lime flavor in it …. Fresh lime might be zestier but the tin salt is handy and tasty.
3/11/23 Kaliber, I drew a Southwestern Sunset pic to show my support. Mahalo for your posts which help us to see the positives & to preserve and uphold our Quality of Life.
W O W !!!!! KaimukiGal , ( stumbling backward , stunned ) that’s a great picture , I’m floored. It’s beautiful . I’ve already put it in my special keeper photos album. You have no idea how uplifting this generosity is. Thank you ever so much.
3/11/23 Aloha, Kaliber, you always come through. It's long past sundown where you live and mahalo for your post. I could hardly drag myself out of bed because I'm anxious and depressed. (Hubby will start his 28 rounds of VMAT on 3/22/23.) Please know that, despite the loss of an unconventional gift of fine tequila, you've helped many of us to have a humorous start to our weekend. Cheers to you and your friends who have bestowed this fabulous gift of Tesla Tequila!
this dang nab stuff is , by nature , plenty awful. My wife, the hammer, is kinda lock stepped - synchronized with me after 45 years of marriage. We can speak completing each other’s sentences , and think things simultaneously etc. . like old married couples can do. All the time I have to be careful to keep things upbeat , light and positive around her. I can handle extreme stress and depression much better than she can … I can screw up and send her into extreme depressive emotional states if I’m not careful. Humor helps me , it helps her ……. it helps us all if we let it. We laugh a lot , cannabis helps us laugh a lot too 😂😂😂😂 just say’in
Ima not going to let the friend that gave me the tequila know , too cringeworthy yaya yayaya. Awkward!!!! Thank you again.
Aloha, Kaliber, past midnight where you are. Here in Honolulu, it's 11:25pm. Thanks so much for sharing. It's hard for me to share because I don't want to betray hubby who is very private. Yet, I don't want to live in a vacuum. Health information is too valuable not to share, especially with those in our community! Hubby, age 69, was dx in 9/22 after an MRI-guided biopsy with Stage IIIa, G8, N0, M0. He is not on HealthUnlocked. Since 12/22, he's been on Eligard (3-month shots), Abiraterone Acetate 1000 mg/day, Prednisone 5 mg/day & Prolia. PSA went from 29 to .3 ng/mL. Starting on 3/22/23, he will have 28 sessions of VMAT, a 1-month break, then LD brachytherapy in June 2023. It's hard to tell what's ahead but I have bought waterproof fitted sheet, urinary & fecal liners. I would like to buy some inexpensive waterproof liners for the front seats of the car. I have been reminding hubby that he won't be enjoying the spicy curry and hot sauce that he loves to eat.
It's weird, proceeding through life's chapters, finding that people I used to be in touch with are long gone. Their paths took them to new jobs & new places or perhaps their children now go to a different school than my son. The pandemic and now this complex, very technical health situation has caused just about all to depart. Life is a one-way street; I can't go back to the fun times and people I used to know. Maybe it was meant to be but a friend is hard to forget.
You have deep friendships, Kaliber! I admire the consideration that you have fostered in your very long marriage of 45 years. Knowing how to be considerate and respectful - is just as important as confronting & working through issues. Hubby and I have been married for 20 years. It was a quiet anniversary not posted about, announced or celebrated. I feel like I yelled everything from A-Z in the past week behind closed doors! It's been 20 years of twists and turns. Looking forward, I feel braver knowing there are resources like medical cannabis and ways to monitor and treat this condition. With so many modalities and options, it's impossible to think of them all but HealthUnlocked helps! Thank you, Kaliber, have a restful night!
I answered this once and , somehow, it disappeared … so I’ll hit the high points again , hopefully.
While hubby might not be on HU, he has a strong , caring, advocate here that cares about him a lot . An advocate that keeps him informed and strongly supports him. How good is that !!!! That speaks volumes. Hubby is very lucky in that respect. I’m pretty sure he realizes that fact as well.
I hear you about the bed sheets issue. I travel, even if just to the corner store, with a porta potty, handi wipes, changes of clothes , and waterproof front seat covers … everywhere I go. We all do what we have to do to get by ….
well … while the hammer and myself have been married 45 years, it’s never been Ozzie & Harriet or Leave it to Beaver. Yayahahahaya maybe Nightmare on Elm Street ??? Yayahahahaya. Nawwwwww just kidding ( not ) …. Yes I’m kidding , kinda 😂😂😂😂 I like to think of our , very unusual, life together as all being part of “ the rich texture of life “. Another great example where a bottomless sense of humor is vital. Like you, the hammer is a great caregiver in my time of need, and we’ve managed 45 years…that says something ( disturbing ??? Nawwwww 😂😂😂😂 ) it takes hard work to last over 4 decades.
Hi Kaliber, just seen this its morning here. So sorry 😞 but you know I wouldn't even soak my paint brushes in it, disgusting stuff, awful, nasty, terrible 😢, have I convinced you yet ? Keep smiling 😃
oh Kaliber, you brought back one of our funniest memories.. tequila rendered me helpless, a sack of potatoes thrown over Jims shoulder and out to the car. Ugh, never again!
Yahaha. well that’s evocative …. Reminds me of the old axiom “ candy is dandy but liquor is quicker . Yayahahahaya I think we’ve begun to establish a train of parallel thought here. pretty much everyone , including myself, doesn’t care for tequila much , if at all. Pretty kewl …. I’m not the only one.
I’ve had the same thing happen with whiskey. “ way “ over did it back in my twenties, and even today I gag just smelling it yayahahahaya. This post has been more fun than I expected ….
Yea …. We don need none of that stink’in croaker stuff all the time . Lighten up and laugh sometimes … bizarre funny sideways twists , unexpected diversions… all helps guys, and the gals like us. We need it as much as anyone could.
Kaliber, limoncello is served after meals as a digestive. It is a delicious Italian liquor, popular in Southern Italy. My advise, don’t go down the path of having a second!
yayahahahaya omg …. Clearly from my posts I’d do exactly that … prolly reflecting me yayahahahaya. Same with cannabis , I’d prolly sit there and bad mouth some second drawer bud ….. all the while smoking up the whole lid . Rotflol .😂😂😂😂
Ceviche a memory from Costa Rica......Spent some time there and my first real find were the truck stops along the highway...Went in, they would dish up your lunch, 3-5 types of ceviche in a large bowel, black beans , rice , chicken and other indigenous cuisine. 2-3 dollars....Pura Vida! Blue Skies, good post my man....Sky King and Penny (woof) oh yes, at least it was a gift...
thank you my brother . Ceviche is really easy to make yourself, and you can make the kinds you like best. I love fresh ceviche, even DoorDash will bring me some if I’m feeling lazy. Yayahahahaya. Fish ceviche is especially easy to make as well. Tapia fish meat.
That broken bottle was karma, no doubt, stop me from doing that to myself. Yayahahahaya
Fresh homemade shrimp ceviche with Hornitos plata shooters.
fun … jump right in and get your feet wet too … this is supposed to be a “ group thang “ …more is always better ( well money and booze anyway . I’ll overlook sex since it doesn’t apply to us ) .
Just after we were married , we went to Mexico for a Holiday, touring for a week, visiting amongst other places we went to Tequila. Bought a big bottle of the stuff with a worm in it ! Shoved it in the drinks cabinet.
Over 20years later, Yes its still there. Can't bring ourselves to disturb that worm......🌵🌵🌵😃
lol ….. I can see the poor little thing …. Xs on its eyes, lying there on the bottom and all yayahahahaya. You’re prolly better off just looking at it anyway. You can see the reply’s on here .😂.
You never know tho …. Aging all those years, it might be smooth and delicious. Prolly after the first shot or two , you wouldn’t care anyway 😂😂😂😂
Drop a shot glass full in a pint mug … 😂😂😂😂. Keep those aspirins handy 😁😁😁😁
wow, you might have a jug of expensive balsamic vinegar there by now. 😂😂. That worm is probably petrified as well yayahahahaya. Curiosity would kill me ….that could be either super delicious or super awful. I couldn’t resist just tasting it to find out. Pretty kewl.
hummmmmm, …. That sounds delicious, similar to gazpacho soup … especially served cold. Now you’re making me hungry, if Randy sees this, we’ll both be out at the market gathering goodies yayayayaya.
One of the ceviche’s I’m eating right now is shrimp , cucumbers , onions and cooked in lime juice. It has peppers so hot it takes your breath away and causes pain … but is delicious when the pain stops 😂😂😂
Deeeeeaammmm ! Tequila is my medicine. My budget keeps me in the $40 Reposado range. Anejo for Special Holidays. Here is a good, true Tequila story:
About 5 years ago, before my Dx in Oct 2020. My wife and I had a couples massage in Downtown St Petersburg, FL.. I had a mid-70’s Hispanic woman as my masseuse.. Kind, and nice puffy strong hands she asked if my parents were born in FL.. i said no, and they are both gone (I am 69 yrs old). I said my wifes parents moved to FL 35 yrs ago and also are both gone She said both of her parents are alive, I did the math and asked, they must be in their mid 90’s? She said no, I am the youngest of 6 kids, my Parents are 104 & 103 yrs old I said good genetics she said, well, all 4 of my Grandparents made it over 100 years I said wow, super genetics. She said I dont think so.. I said what else could it be? She said starting at our 14th Birthday, we all take a shot of Tequila before dinner every night not 2 or 3. Just 1 shot before dinner every night.
They believe the Agave plant is very similar to the Aloe Vera plant in its biochemical structure, and that the Tequila heals you from the inside out. I am now a confirmed Tequila customer. It is my go to cocktail-on the rocks with a wedge of lime. “For medicinal purposes”, as my own Grandfather used to say about his Scotch. Does Tequila work? “It all works, but nothing works well”. I just hit my new low nadir PSA of .008 2 weeks ago, and my Pylarify PSMA Pet scan in Nov showed no PCa in any bone, or Prostate, or Organ (3 lymph nodes positive, which I am working on). If it does some PCa damage, and I die happier, then I’m comfortable with my decision, Mike
well …..first, congratulations on your new nadir. It always makes me feel good when I hear of someone having a new low psa. Both especially for them and for “ us “ , generally. It’s all about hope and some good news for a change.
That’s a great story about tequila….. might get a 50 gallon drum delivered later today yayayayayyayaya
Obviosly a multi-pronged approach. Western Medicine, with ADTx2, SABR, Surgery, Scans, Turpsx2. Eastern Medicine with Meditation, some Yoga/Mobility. Does it work? “It all works, yet nothing works well”…yet!
Nothing is curative for Stage 4 Metastatic…yet! At 69 yrs old, and 2 yrs-5 months into this since Dx, just trying to live long enough for a solid extended remission to come along. Is it mBAR? Maybe/Hopefully. My latest Oncologist says No for me until all other treatments exhausted🧐 We all stay tuned here, Mike
you guys and gals have been so great for making my post a fun time for everyone. Thank “ ALL “ of you very much. A solid example of the great camaraderie this group has developed.
