QOL post about wood soup asmr for cancer patients. There are many newly innovated ASMR professional performers on Google and TicTok , wood soup is one of the best but there are many many others that might “ tickle “ you better ( for relaxation and stress ). Unique like the impressive pain management ability of VR goggles ( esp children and seniors ) ( UCSF sf pioneered VR for children and it’s Uber effective. Google it for more in-depth info.

ASMR , autonomous sensory meridian response ….. is very effective for relaxation, sleep and anxiety relief among many other things. You can Google it, Im just introducing it here for those of us that aren’t aware of it yet. I find it VERY soooooooothing and relaxing - sleep inducing. This is just the wooden soup kind . You can search google and TicTok for ASMR to see many other kinds.

Later I’ll post an article for the” pimple popper “ asmr that seems to be help for a wide array of people.

Love ya brothers and remember it’s annual 4:20 day tomorrow

Yes, there's gazillion ASMR's. Its the only kind of rabbit hole I want to find myself in. The other day I watched quality toy cars that were left outside for many years nearly destroyed by the elements get completely restored. Mesmerizing.

Kaliber profile image
Kaliber in reply toCAMPSOUPS

no kidding , I do the same thing. Some of those “ transfix “ you and hours pass sometimes , time you didn’t notice your “ discomforts “ nearly as bad as usual. Times you have good thoughts too. I’ve seen several of those restoration ones recently, the Pokémon card ones are ( stupidly ???? ) transfixing more related to gambling Imho. They made me buy a box of cards and I don’t even know what Pokémon is about yayahahaha.

it gets more weird … I “ love “ my Pokémon cards…. Got a “ hot “ box newly from Amazon and it was loaded with “ hits “ …. Good cards for collectors . When I’m watching the streaming of packs being opened, I get mine out and admire them. It’s a strange kind of Asmr , but it keeps you glued to the screen …. It is addictive tho … I suggest “ look away “ and skipping those types of pages.Yayahahahaya ya.

Just say’in

Oh man. I can imagine. AI at work. The algorithms are humming lol.

We've come a long way since "Tivo thinks I'm gay".

My wife and I (I think I'll just leave it to my wife ha,ha) have to get on the Pokemon wagon speaking of. Our son informed us a couple weeks ago that grandson is done, finished, with Spiderman and is into Pokemon now. No more Spiderman related presents lol.

I watched a couple of those as well as machines, tool boxes, metal power tool. I watched How It is made on the Science channel for years. Lately, a guy making counter tops and tables out of very large slabs of black walnut.

Correction those were all video, just read what a ASMR is and the only sensations I had were mental enjoyment.

Yea gazillion. I watch some from Vietnam or Thailand building motorized mini bikes from scrap and left over parts.

Sounds like something I would like. Do you tinker yourself?

CAMPSOUPS profile image
CAMPSOUPS in reply totreedown

I do (still supply parts, assemblies I assemble for particular brand of printing press) and or did more in the past with the printing presses. One of our inside jokes at the printing press company was this is supposed to be a company not a hobby shop lol.

My son and I converted his minibike from 50cc to 120 cc a few years ago. Since leaving Chicago for the twin cities a couple years ago I've re-discovered fishing lol.

I remember now your work with printing presses. Its a shame the history of those machines was reduced by so much, though the tree's are much happier no doubt.

I tinker with bikes, and my lawn equipment now. I used to build my own computers out of components just because I could and the inevitable repair was easier. I gave that up years ago cause they just became so inexpensive and dependable from the big companies.

I worked with surveying instruments for few years, old to new, which added to my enjoyment of all things maps. I have real appreciation of machined metal parts and wish I had time to get a metal lathe and wood shop but wouldn't commit money to those bucket list items anymore.

CAMPSOUPS profile image
CAMPSOUPS in reply totreedown

Speaking of ASMR and lathes I sometimes watch a site using mini-mills and mini lathes and drool over the prospect of owning one but it would be silly now.

I have all the CAD drawings from the old company so I can have the machined parts made. Here are a couple of precision made parts with 4 decimal point tolerance.

Thanks Kaliber,

I have a daughter who swears by ASMR, but so far I haven't relaxed using the videos. I'll check it our.

For years I have used a audio file of ocean waves for sleep and relaxation, but I don't think that is the same thing. I will also use nature recordings sometimes, when I am having trouble slowing my thoughts for meditation. Have you used ASMR audio during meditation?

Kaliber profile image
Kaliber in reply toCarlosbach

yea, wood soup is best served up live. Check tictok for the professional live performances of both “ intenseasmr “ and especially some of the lady asmr performers.

I do shikantaza meditation, that is done in silence so you can hear that still small voice inside you. It’s eyes open in silence, staring at a bland wall. When you find your unruly playful mind wandering during meditation , recenter your self , and start again. Over and over until you train your mind to stay focused. The still small voice calls to “ all “ of us here if we quieten our minds enough to hear and listen for it.

I do find that slow wood soup asmr or pretty lady on the microphone ( the mouth clicks and laser color rods ) are especially excellent when performed by one of the asmr professionals on social media. Some can almost make me nod off instantly. When done to sync with my head, it’s wonderfully relaxing. Who knew ? Seems like a lot of stuff happening that I nearly missed . Kewl , fun , stuff.

I don't have a name for my meditation but have been using it since dx. I can get into it quickly in hospital chairs, accupuncture gurneys, or wherever I have long waits. A couple times I drifted off during a hard core deep tissue massage. Came in handy prior to radiation treatments and most recently waiting the hour for Pylarify agent for 60 minutes, Went by so quick the tech had to turn on the lights to rouse me. Deep breathing gets me there in a few breathes sometimes but no formal training so no idea what I would call it.

Kaliber profile image
Kaliber in reply totreedown

sounds like you have developed a meditation that works for you. That it “ works for you “ is the important thing. You aren’t pursuing a “ formal “ line / type of meditating , so those strict conventions don’t apply here and probably …. all the better for it. Sounds like you have a good handle on meditation… yessir buddy. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it .

Unsurprisingly, I truly found my brothers in this post. I've always thought that there are simple, accessible ways to stimulate the "focused relaxation" portion of our brains to fight the specters of depression and pain.

I learn new stuff daily, asmr was one recent one. There are dozens of different kinds of asmr performers with enormous audiences every day. Hundreds of thousands of asmr viewers daily. There must be something going on. I can say that the kinds I like are like taking sleeping pills. They knock me right out. Who knew….. it’s interesting stuff. The cringeworthy pimple popper performers are very popular as are the Equally cringeworthy “ clean the ear canal “ performers. With their giant ear canal with a camera in the back end. You watch them swab out various sticky substances ( deposited there before the show ). Yikes ….. yayahahahaya

ok, up until reading the last part here, this thread was putting me to sleep 😴 Lol 😂

Had not heard of ASMR before, but think I might have experienced something like it watching a YouTube video of a tree? root that had been submerged in a 5 gallon bucket of colored epoxies getting turned on a lath into lamp base.

Anyway, interesting, thanks for sharing!

…………. Ooops forgot what I as gonna say 😂😂😂 dang this 420 day anyway.

Oh mannnnn … the most cringey asmr …. to me anyway , and that ear canal asmr is a doozy … is the pimple popping asmrperformances. Someone loads up a hand sized soft silicone toy animal with abscesses of a trick fluid / oooze and the asmr performer …slowly pops and squeezes out the simulated “ puss ? “ from the abscesses and end up with a relieved and cured animal. It’s trippy. Best ones mostly on TicTok but you can Google them too. Yuckie …. Weird …. strangely evocative. Yayahahahaya

New meaning to “ squeezins “ yayahahahaya eewwwwwwww

almost spit out my root beer when I read this. I know , … sometimes it’s hard not to grab a peek or two. Just say’in. Cringe worthy to the max. But “ very interesting “ . Somehow , I do feel relieved after all the puss is removed from the silicone toy and it feels so much better and looks happier. We’d all probably like to be able to do that to our cancer too. Might be “ something “ in this kind of asmr if you could get over the cringey parts. 😂😂😂😂

CAMPSOUPS profile image
CAMPSOUPS in reply toKaliber

It feels better and looks happier we say as we're half way gagging and half way enthralled lol. Whats become of us lol.

Kaliber profile image
Kaliber in reply toCAMPSOUPS

omg ….Yayahahahaya yayahahahaya. I dunno buddy ….I think we’ve opened new doors for a peek on the other side……. Sometimes tharze things we can’t “ unsee “ but we keep looking anyway ……. Some of this asmr stuff actually gets “ in your head “ and stays there . Not sure what “ all this “ means , ……clicking floating wooden toys putting me asleep ? Cringe city …? W hats it all mean, where were we when all this came about ? Twilight Zone. 😂😂😂

Kaliber profile image
Kaliber in reply toCAMPSOUPS

search Google for : loisa asmr ….. and watch some of her asmr performances. The red rods one, her first year celebration asmr , the blue rods. With the lighted rods ones you are supposed to put your device to your face with your eyes closed. This so you can see the colored led patterns thru your eyelid. She is very addictive. Just say’in. She has the most addictive smile I’ve ever seen as well.

I'm about 6 minutes into this one "Most Relaxing Eye Exam & Personal Attention for Sleep" its only 24 minutes so easy to check out. Yea she's a professional. Kind of like an exotic dancer is a professional lol. Seriously. A little creepy when she says and does start to clean out my eye gooo lol.

I've got to hit it. Target curbside pick up. I like it as it breaks up the day. Spark a bowl enjoy the drive. Maybe some tunes, maybe NPR we'll see lol.

oh mannnnnn …. I went and watched that before I wrote this. Is that light wand sex or what. Holy mackerel. She flashes that brain melting smile and mouth clicks and you melt into a heap on the table, then she does surgery on you with her light wands and fluffy puffy gizmos and eye doughnuts ……“ that’s “ a trip. craziness aside , she knows how to relax you completely. It’s pretty entertaining, way better than squeezing the silicone toy cringe. Yayahahahaya

Trippy buddy … 😂😂😂

Yea I kinda was lookin for my dollar bills to tip her with lol. There's some erotica going on there brother lol. You certainly know it when it happens. Just thinking about some songs/music does it to me a lot. Not trying to be gross but I just googled amrs and YouTube brought up a video about ear licks. I can say that happens to me also. But whatever causes it, the tingles are very pleasurable.

Kaliber profile image
Kaliber in reply tomaggiedrum

that’s what asmr is all about. It aims to hit those psychological triggers that we humans have … mostly for relaxation, sleep and release of many kinds. I never even knew it existed until a couple months ago. The tingles seem to be the main bang , ahead of the sleep inducing types. And even those prolly have tingles too. It’s very interesting … so many kinds and so many people ( 100s of 1000s ) grooving on it 24/7. It’s a “ thing “ everywhere and I’m just now finding out about it.

❤️❤️❤️

it’s strange alright …. When the performers perform live on TicTok, for example, you can watch a live stream comment section in the bottom left of the screen. I was reading that stream on wood soup performer intenseasmr, for a while, when I suddenly noticed it was making me intensely relaxed and sleepy. Every time I watch her, the same thing happens. Probably more of a shock to me than anyone. …. who knew that stuff really works ? It’s a no brainer , tho, …. on any given night there might be the best part of a million watchers of some kind of asmr ( and there are many ). Obviously there is something happening there, and I’d never even heard of it before. Yayahahahaya. Makes me feel out of touch sometimes.

roger that …. Most asmr’s are visual , then visual audible triggers etc….. people are all different and one size doesn’t fit all, so to speak. Audio - visuals with clicking sounds seem to be the most popular but there are a bunch of different types. I never even knew this existed until recently yayaya yayayayaya. Feels like I’ve been out of the loop.
