Myrbetriq (Mirabegron)

Urologist has recommended this drug to reduce the frequency of frequent my bathroom trips particularly at night. I presently have to pee about every two hours day and night, and it has definitely interfered with QoL. Does anyone have experience or knowledge of this drug before I add it to my routine?

Never heard of it. I use tamsulosin (flomax).

Flomax is used to increase the ability to pee not reduce the trips to the bathroom.

Flomax increases your ability to empty your bladder (increase the flow)

It works for you ? An 80 yr old guy at the gym had an RP 25 yrs ago . I asked him about being up peeing all night like, I do . He said flomax prevents this? Is it true? Why haven’t my docs ever told me this ?

I just started taking it on February 16. I was peeing 20 to 25 times a day and 4 to 6 times a night. I am now peeing only 2 to 3 times a night. And during the day about every 2 hours. So the drug has dramatically improved my QOL. And I am hoping I continue to improve because it is supposed to take 4 to 6 weeks to reach full effectiveness. I haven't noticed any side effects.

I was taking it, with mixed results -- helped with urgency, but also raised urinary retention -- it was harder to start peeing and fully empty my bladder. I stopped because it wasn't helping enough, but my situation wasn't as drastic as yours. I also stopped because CVS started charging me $245 for it (up from $75), even with my drug plan.

Almost 1 year on drug. Best time to take 1 hour before bedtime. I still pee twice a night.

I am on high bp meds. This drug does increase my bp. Note dangerous interaction with trazodone and alcohol.

I was on it for a while. One of the possible side effects is elevated blood pressure. I'm on 3 BP meds. My urologist changed me to gemtesa and I sleep all night now.

I have taken it for a couple of years. Reduced nightly awakenings from about 5 to about 3. I get it from India.

I’ve been using it for a couple months with no effect. But my problem has been attributed to scar tissue in my urethra from radiation whic causes chronic UTIs. I had a AUS installed which helps but I still need to pee every one to two hours. Day and night. Awful!

Nice suit! Dam , that’s mucho suffering . I’m sorry about that . I had chronic uti’s for two yrs with tubes stents and foley . The bad antis like cipro destroyed my joints . With out antis we’d all be gone . ✌️

I’ve been using Myrbetriq for almost a year. It works wonders for my bladder spasms that developed after RRP and salvage radiation. I’d been on Tamsulosin but that eventually caused bradycardia. I tried Solifenacin but that caused terrible constipation. So far Myrbetriq has been very effective without any side effects.

I had samples from a urologist that I tried for a few months - it had no effect on stress incontinence.

My latest urologist suggested I try it again since I've greatly lessened the incontinence problems (I now no longer get up at all at night..) but when I priced it, my Part-D drug plan considers it a Tier-4 drug and offers no assistance paying for it. The Astellas drug company has an assistance plan that they claim "if your drug plan won't cover it - they'll help" - but when contacted by phone they refuse to help since I have Part-D Medicare (Catch 22 anyone..?)

It costs $395 per month for a prescription without assistance. GoodRx doesn't have any discounts for it, and a 3-month prescription is $1,169. - It seems overly expensive for the results I had with the initial trial prescription I had.

I also searched the Astellas website looking for some means of contacting them that didn't involve a phone call (and the resulting phone menu and waiting queue) - and I found nothing. No email addresses at all. I finally messaged them via their Facebook account - and have heard absolutely nothing back. I was questioning them on the no-assistance despite my Part-D plan having no coverage.

It may look like you need a prescription, but you do not. On the other hand, there is a small chance customs will seize it, in which case All-Day says they will issue a refund (I would guess the refund does not cover shipping).

Have used in past. Quite expensive as others have mentioned but I purchased through one of the canadien online pharmacies. Worth trying but give it a couple of months and be mindful of both drug interactions and side effects.

I tried it for a month with very little improvement. I get up twice a night usually, and have to go about every 2 hours during the day, which is at least twice as often as pre-PC. It cost me about $100 a month with my medical plan, so it wasn't worth it considering that any improvement was hardly noticeable. I have been trying low-dose naltrexone for about 8 weeks now, and it hasn't helped either. ☹️ 🦊

Ive taken 4.5 naltrexone myself for 8 yrs now . It is said to have c fighting properties per my Nat onco .

Some guys here suggest having a large neck bottle sitting next to the bed. When you have the urge just stand up out of bed and pee in the bottle. Place bottom back and jump in bed right away and go back to sleep. Less of an interruption, hopefully you fall asleep quickly..
