How long your father can live nobody knows, even not the doctors.
One thing this illness made for me is to realize I should live each day and try to enjoy it as much as possible without thinking what the future will bring.
I was diagnosed on April 2018 Gleason 9 and BRCA 2 carrier.
I've done hormonal therapy (Lupron + Abiraterone) for 2 years, radiation twice , back to hormonal therapy and 5 months ago I finished 6 rounds of chemotherapy - Docetaxel + carboplatin. Immediately after I finished chemotherapy I started taking Darolutamide.
Chemotherapy was no picnic but not as bad as I imagined.
Few things I would discuss with doctors:
- There are a few alternatives to Abiraterone - Enzalutamide, Apalutamide, darolutamide which can be considered
- Triplet treatment of Chemotherapy hormonal therapy and Darolutamide was proven to be effective
Does you father goes thru some regular imaging ?
There are much more knowledgeable people in this forum which I hope will join and give their insights on your question.
tnx for your advice, my father just use Abiraterone and Lu 177psma . programs of doctor if psa rise is use Docetaxel. Enzalotomide is effective but there isn’t in iran and when I want I pay a huge price. You right advice I don’t think death but I am so nervous.
As dorke said ...... No one except our maker knows the answer about how long will your dear Father live.
We here have the same question about death but we came to the conclusion not to worry about dying.... worry about living. Make sure you and Father (and family) take one day at a time, get good medical help and pray to your maker....Keep posting here since there are very learned members who can help you and your dear Father.
p.s. your English is understandable....
