"Combinatorial treatment with natural compounds in prostate cancer inhibits prostate tumor growth and leads to key modulations of cancer cell metabolism"

I find this article today and this researcher says this combination can potentially can use for human test.

any body knows about starting human test or result ?

my fellow-citizen Avicenna about 7 hundred years ago says about Turmeric mens problem in The Canon of Medicine(his book) i know man with advance prostate cancer early stage at age of 85 and doctors says "we can not do surgery in this age" and hi is using turmeric in early morning in 4 hand made capsule miraculous way his PSA come down to between 1 - 7 n/m and hi is doing fine i dont know about PSA but hi is going to oncologist

may be it can be real cure in future or good tread for raising survival time ..

Curcumin may mask PSA. In clinical trials so far it achieved nothing.

If lowering PSA means masking PSA...then all meds which lower PSA (casodex,Lupron etc) all might be masking PSA. Right ?

Tall_Allen profile image
Tall_Allen in reply to LearnAll

No lowering PSA does not mean masking PSA. Masking PSA means that the test itself is not valid.

saeed, I suggest you do a "PCa + curcumin" search on PubMed and draw your own conclusions. Be Well - cujoe

It’s far from bad for you....and has stood the test of time for millennia......question I have is who was the first person to try it and how did they convince others to join in ....it frankly tastes like dirt.

I do find it lends something to cardamom and cinnamon with honey in my morning coffee...I’ll continue its use in my personal n=1 life trial.

Are you referring to the works of Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbdillāh ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn Sīnā[21] (أبو علي الحسين بن عبد الله بن الحسن بن علي بن سينا)? I would suggest searching his medical works for discussions of brown rice and/or legumes.

AbdulKalam Shamsuddin, MD, Ph.D. is making modern contributions to our understanding of inositol hexaphospate when blended with inositol and its impact on cancer cells. Go to this web site for a crash course in his research:

Pretty simple. Curcumin is a proven natural anti-inflammatory that is safe up to 8 grams/per day. If you believe inflammation plays a role in cancer development and progression, then it COULD be a component in an anti-inflammatory diet (turmeric) and as a supplement (curcumin). It is poorly absorbed and fat-soluble, so take it with some fat to help its absorption. Pepper is known to increase absorption of curcumin, so some formulations combine it with bioperine. There are also several formulations that purport to increase absorption via other biochemical combinations/modifications.

No one here is a doctor, so it is up to each individual to do your own research and make your own judgements. Seek and you shall find. (That's what search engines are for!) Be Well - cujoe

My MO is of Indian decent and indicated he uses Curcumin on most if not all home prepared meals as an anti inflammatory agent a precursor to cancer development..Good enough for him Good enough for me.

One also needs to be careful with higher dose curcumin especially if on anytype of anticoagulant therapy...including low dose aspirin as it can increase bleeding risk.

dbrooks_h profile image
dbrooks_h in reply to Bravesfan33

Yes it will

We eat fresh organic tumeric daily . Also 4 Meriva caps per day . Good for circulation ..

I doubt curcumin has any beneficial effect on PCa. We South Indians add curcumin, or rather its parent Tumeric to each meal. I should never have had PCa with the tons of curcumin I have eaten in my 78 years. I still eat it, because I like the flavour, never mind if it is good for PCa or not. So there goes another hope! I am afraid.

saeed_alexy profile image
saeed_alexy in reply to drsridhar53

thank you my friend but in this article the sayed curcumin should be eaten by special compounds like grapes and apples...also its work on animals and i think it first step to cure this kind of cancern ... also we should not be hope less and fight with this abnormal sells

You may also want to look into the absorption of the curcumin you take. Curcumin is more challenging to absorb. For example, a supplement form that is hydro-soluble absorbs better.

Combine with pepper for absorption.

Curcumin is proven anti inflammatory root eaten by billion plus people in India every day.

But Medical Industrial complex will like to defame any legit herbal or natural substance because it can hinder sale of their billion dollar meds.

Dozens of research studies done in Germany have proven that eating two cloves of Garlic reduces bad cholesterol by 7 to 8% But, no doctor will tell you that and will jump to write lipitor or crestor.

I am not against medicines but herbs and right kind of diet certainly play a good role too.
