I use the generic, no problems with CVS specialty pharmacy

My husband just had problems getting his from CVS Specialty. They had to get a different prescription from his doctor and use a different manufacturer. He was without for a week before it came.

The 250mg pills were out of stock and he had to get a script for 500mg pills for the coupon to work for the copay.

It was a mess.

That is crazy

yes! Our copay is normally $5 with the coupon and they wanted to switch manufacturers and charge us $350 for one month of the 250 pills.

It is so frustrating that the exact same medication has so many different insurance codes and so on. Ridiculous the hoops everyone has to jump through.

Although, my husband is enjoying only having to take 2 pills each morning instead of 4! So, bright side to all the hoop jumping!

I renewed my prescription for generic abiraterone at my specialty pharmacy just before Christmas and had no problem.

It was with my hospital's specialty pharmacy and Cigna Part D plab. But for 2023 Cigna changed their terms and prices so I switched to an AARP/United Health Care Part D plan. Once I pay the $350 deductible the price for the abiraterone should be similar.

our experience was we didn’t need to be a member to use Costco pharmacy but ate the prices even cheaper if you are a member?

The 1st time I filled the prescription they quoted me a price in the high $ 300 range and asked if I was a member then said it was $166 with a membership, give them a call they should give you a price

I have the same experience when tried to refill my prescription 2 weeks ago. They still did not refill it because of the abiraterone shortage.
