Salvage Radiation Repost

I'm reposting this bc earlier post had a crucial typo and I left out some important info. Corrected/updated post is below with changes bolded. I really appreciate all the thoughtful replies I've received so far.

I had robot RP 2/2022. Gleason 7. PSAs post-RP <0.4. In October, PSA was 0.06. 11/21/22 PSA=0.09 (Quest). On 12/28/22 had a PSMA/PET and nothing lit up and no mets detected. PSA on scan day was 0.08 (Quest). 12/28/22 PSA by UTMB lab was 0.10. PSA resample the following day by Quest was 0.07.

I saw two ROs. One said there was no surgical benefit to radiation before 0.2. The other said it’s better to do it asap as there’s a good chance of avoiding hormone therapy later.  Any thoughts are appreciated.

I think you meant 0.2 not 2.0. You can edit your posts. Pull down "More" underneath.

I would wait for 0.2 ng/ml to start with salvage radiation. I suspect the better statistics for radiating below 0.2 are in part because patients were radiated who did not need it. There is a study by Amling that the PSA value often stabilizes at 0.4 ng/ml.
