Ouch! Santa only left me lumps of coal. Still digesting my latest DX and any input would be welcome.

At my wellness checkup, the first thing my PCP said was that I looked pale then told me I was anemic and my blood numbers were mostly bad. Off to the hematologist and was told I also had hemochromatosis (too much iron) and need to do a bone marrow biopsy. Knew this wasn't just to fill a square and that my shit was weak.

Just got the results thinking it might be blood or bone cancer, but it is MDS, myelodysplastic syndromes, which are bone marrow cancers. It basically only is found in "the elderly" (over 60), a term I hate even though I am nearly 85. I was told that it is not curable and the SE of medications wasn't worth it. The symptoms fit at least 20 other diseases and the SE of my ADT. Probably it is undercounted since it get mixed in with other comorbidites. About a 35% chance that it will turn into Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Some thought that radiation may cause it. Right now in "Waitful Watching" which didn't work well for me with PCa! Will see what my blood says mid March. Any light on it will be greatly appreciated.

We are nearly 77 and grateful to be here in Thailand eating papaya and loving the warm weather. I’d be doing whatever I hankered to do if I were 84.⭐️

Pretty much doing what I want. Last summer put 8100 miles on the RV, went through 20 states, saw scores of friends and relatives and provide 2 months of care for a niece undergoing chemo. In January will be 85 and for my present to me, I will fly a helicopter.Just trying to find out how wide is my window of fun.🙃

That is heavy duty ! I am sorry ! Hang in there .

Hello Spencer boy11

the only thing i feel I can address is your hemochromatosis.

Which means in a nutshell that your body cant absorb iron.

So, eating grains, legumes, nuts and seeds(quinoa) contain phytic acid, which reduces iron absorption. I might also avoid red meat and alcohol

for your paleness try to get outside, no matter how cold and walk a bit

I have read that milk Thistle isis a good supplement for this but i dont actuay know...
