I sat with them in our lil play area and asked how Halloween & Thanksgiving went. Asked what their Christmas plans were. Asked if Dad was able to get anything on his hunts. They said a boar and an elk, that'll last them a long time. Asked if they had guns, and they both have BB guns😊When Mom was done she took a pic in front of our Christmas Toy Drive area for local kiddos. A long term pt is a Parishioner at the Catholic Church
Lol, the girls were at a School Christmas party and the lil one was Rudolph with antlers on forehead and a Red Nose. The older one had a Christmas tree on her R cheek
Hay mannnn …. A little super glue and some trimmings from that black cat next door .. no lashes , nolo problemo .
I’ve seen those infomercials for tattooed lashes on the TV ….. they look surprisingly great , and none of those eyelash mites. ( démodéx ) …. How great is that. Just say’in yayahahahaya
that sounds like fun … hope your weather is good there. Its been a little chilly here 55f days …39f nights and heavy Tule fog. On the edge of twilight all day today , have both high and low fog. Common in years when we’ve had rain in the past. It’s good to see the refreshing wetness for a change, great jacuzzi weather yayahahahaya. always love the coast …anytime.
I'm 8 years in with #stageivpca (Mets to L ureter lymph nodes, PSA @840.2), old data said only a 28% chance of 5 years. In 01/2015, MO said I was dx'd at the right time as the CHAARTED data just dropped showing that ADT and chemo simultaneously gave the men 17 more months.
So, the overwhelming positivity is a result of still being here, working, hiking, enjoying QoL and work still . Carpe dang diem
And, of course, when two cute lil pts run up and hug you and then so easily pose with their Crazy dentist that makes my year!!
12/16/22 Aloha, Dockam, that’s an intriguing holiday photo. You’ve given us a view of your personal goals, triumphs, challenges and changes. You’re driven to achieve but exude gentle aloha. I pray, God be willing, we’ll have a chance to talk on the phone or even meet in person. In a few days, you’ll be flying to Oahu for the holidays to meet with friends & family and to scarf down some onolicious local food! My husband has prostate cancer and I’m new to HealthUnlocked. Your example gives me courage and shows me that there’s much learning and growth in this new chapter of life.
Aloha Sista, been a lil bit, hope that all is well with you and hubby
I've gone through a lot in these last 8 years. Brief back story. Had ordered PSA via privatemdlabs.com 2010 PSA @ 4.7, probs was PCa then, but being stupid man I didn't follow up. Then 10/13/2014 PSA @ 555, 10 days later @ 633, then 12/2014 @ 840. L kidney damage from the L ureter being crushed by the PCa in the lymph nodes. Ureter stents placed, then replaced 6 months later.
Was about 3 or 4 chemos in and PSA was dropping, MO asked Tumor Board members what to do in my case, no one said more chemos. Dr. Vora told me "I'll give you more chemos until you tell me to stop or the #s plateau" He let me have 9 more Taxotere sessions over the 6 protocol. I'm, still here because he thought way outside the box. Abiraterone failed in 2020 and then Xtandi, tried another 6 Taxoteres, no go. Then 18 Cabazitaxels over a year ending in Nov.
So, still upright, I say that to my pts I would love to meet you both, and maybe infuse you with Aloha and Optimism . I'll msg you my cell and email and flight info.
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah, I've always been pretty cool with pts, but now with PCa in me, it's time to #bekind and Spread Aloha and appreciate everyday that I am still here
Fight on, Smile on, Hug on
Luv ya Bro
Randy
Randy, your a good man… I wish I was your Hygienist, loving all those bright smiles.!❤️
Awww, Mahalo for that. And we do have fun at the office laughing, joking and of course singing 🎶I have an Alexa in the operator and the RDHs play whatever they wanna.
Inevitably, something will trigger a song and I'll start singing, and one of the hygienists will join in 💙
