I had a bad reaction to Doxataxel that put me in the ICU. This my first experience with chemotherapy. I had a nuclear stress test 2 days before and was told by the MO and cardiologist that there would be no problems. The nuclear test results were all negative. The test was given to check for heart damage from Afib.Anyone have any problems like this?
All the best to everyone.

"Severe hypersensitivity reactions characterized by generalized rash/erythema,hypotension and/or bronchospasm, or very rarely fatal anaphylaxis, have been reported in patients who received a 3-day dexamethasone premedication.Hypersensitivity reactions require immediate discontinuation of the Docetaxel Injection infusion and administration of appropriate therapy [see Warning and Precautions (5.4)]. Docetaxel Injection must not be given to patients who have a history of severe hypersensitivity reactions to docetaxel or to other drugs formulated with polysorbate 80 [see Contraindications (4)]"
It does not have anything to do with your AF or any other heart problem.
It may preclude continuing with docetaxel therapy. Perhaps they could change to Jevtana or paclitaxel and premedicate adequately with anti allergic drugs including steroids.
No ta I had the AFib the first time was early September and again in early October both times it cleared up on its own but I am on Eliquis blood thinner.
