Completed 4 rounds of chemo with jevanta, 5th one next week, psa was 48 but dropped to 26 but today back to 29, does your psa fluctuate and should it not drop faster ? Maybe I am worrying over the slight increase, how have others done on this ? Am I expecting too much to soon, I am tolerating the treatments well with the side effects. Any help would be nice, if this stops working then a pet scan then pluvicto, the insurance then would have to cover it.

How fast does jevanta work
After 1st of 12 treatments with Jevtana/Carbo combo, my PSA went down 90 %, from 60 to 4. Subsequent treatments showed ongoing rising PSA, but with stable disease as indicated by scans, resulting in continued use. Treatments 11 and 12 finally showed drop in PSA. But, now my red blood cell count and platelet level are way below normal. May now need to take a break for my body to recover. Next scans happening soon.
Glad to hear you are well, this is encouaging, hopefully mine will down to single numbers. I will just be patient and keep going, my blood work is very good so far which is a plus. Was your scans regular or PET scans, the insurance would not pay for one last May but would pay for regular scans. My one big concern is the lesions on the liver, hopefully they have healed or gone with this treatment. They have to pay for the PET scans now according to protocol, the next would be pluvicto whenever that happens, these treatments can go on for months. My oncologist has one patient on this for over 3 years so there is hope.
My scans to date have been whole body bone and CT. My MO told me he would use PSMA PET at the time when we need to change treatments.
I recently had nine Jevtana plus Carboplatin doses at very low psa levels. My psa went up , then down, then a plateau at a very low level. I'm not sure whether this was a cancer advance, or a simple psa flair. The two intermediate pet scans were not encouraging, but the one after nine doses looked very good!
Just taking the one drug, interesting how yours kind of bounced but went to single digits which is better ygsn double digits. It could be the dying of the cancer cells also that could explain tgr ups and down, hoping that is the case with my experience so far. Still not into it since thd fifth I will have next week, I wwill ask him about adding the other drug with it unless he adds it later after my scan next year.i gave noticed improvents since August, now retired I can do better timing the eating.
