Has anyone experienced heart arrythmia whilst taking zoladex. This is my husbands second time taking adt in 5 years since a ct scan shows 2 pelvic lymph nodes. we cannot recall this side effect first time around, although it is classed as a side effect. He is having a Holter monitor on for 24hrs next week as Ecg is not a long enough test to show fibrilation. Any help here.

I think it can cause QT prolongation but it usually doesn't.
You mentioned they are looking for fibrillation I guess it is atrial fibrillation.
Zoladex may increase the QT interval but this increase does not cause atrial fibrillation.
Atrial fibrillation prevalence increases with advancing age and it is one of the most common arrhythmias in older people.
There is a monitor which can record for 15 days (ZIO monitor) and it can evaluate the burden or frequency and duration of the AF episodes or other arrhythmias.
Thanks for your comments guys, always there to give a helping hand. . My husband is 70 and was treated with adt for 3 years when diagnosed 9 years ago, he also had 30 rounds of radiation to pelvis. Psa was undetected for 5 years where we did a watch and wait, then the psa started to rise again He is back on zoladex as the last ct scan showed two small pelvic lymph nodes cancerous. No bone mets. He has no other medical issues only due to an accident when he was 28 lost a kidney and spleen (both exploded on the impact of the accident plus many more injuries. We have ordered a Holter machine as the normal ecg duration isn't picking up the problem. We will see what that shows next week.l have read on several papers that adt can cause these issues just wondering if anyone else taking or has taken adt had the same. Thanks
I am not on zoladex but I have a long history with atrial fibrillation. I was on meds for many years and when they failed I got the a-fib ablation surgery. There are supplements that can help. I continue to take Magnesium Citrate (softgels -- easier to swallow), CoQ10, L-Arginine and Taurine. Let his doctors know about these if he decides to take them. He also needs to stay hydrated and with adequate electrolytes (think Gatorade). The Holter monitor should turn up the a-fib. BTW, I was gifted an Apple watch. It has the ability to detect atrial fibrillation. I also use it to monitor my pulse during a gym workout.
