MO IN Lake Placid FL

We will be moving to Lake Placid FL next year sometime. I am looking for help in finding an oncologist in the area.

Can anyone give me a recommendation for someone that they feel comfortable with.

You're probably best off being willing to travel coupled with a local medical oncologist at a local center of excellence with a complete oncology department.

Brief background: Wife metastatic bladder cancer in 2018, me recurrent prostate cancer in 2016. Suggest you google Drs. Elizabeth Guancial and Jonathan Rosenberg. Both have very strong credentials and backgrounds. Dr. Guancial was recommended to us by Dr. Rosenberg and I have referred others to her. They have been pleased. Dr. Guancial at FL Cancer Specialists in Sarasota, and we travel from JAX for my wife's treatment. Dr. Rosenberg Chief at Sidney Kimmel at MSK. I travel to Duke for treatment by Dr. Daniel George.

If you're in JAX, why did you rule out Mayo, MDA, and UF right there?

Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa is a center of excellence. However, it's about a two-hour drive from Lake Placid

We moved to Ocala, FL and hubby goes to Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute here in Ocala. They have locations all over FL and are highly rated... we've been VERY happy with the MO he sees and the whole set up is very "hi-tech" with everything we'd need!

I’d go to Moffit if I lived in FL and had Advanced PCa. It is a Center of Excellence. Good luck.
