LOW PLATELETS 27,000

desperately seeking advice

My dad has had his 3 round of xofigo , was scheduled for his 4th but platelets are at a 37. He is now in the hopstial they are at a 27. His HGB is 8.1

We are doing the papaya leaves - trying to rebuild

All the other platelets stimulants I have read about on here, the Dr says does not qualify for him, the NPLATE and Doplet.

we have asked about preisdone she was looking into his blood numbers to see if she would start this.

they will not tranfuse until a 20

PLEASE HELP ANY ADVICE OR ANYTHING

it is a difficult situation, since the cancer may have infiltrated the bone marrow and the radiation from the Xofigo may had affected normal cells in the bone marrow. They need to stop therapy and hope the bone marrow will recover enough to reinitiate any therapy.

To my knowledge the drugs used to stimulate platelet production are only indicated for immune thrombocytopenia or aplastic anemia failing treatment.
