I had some cancer removed from my L2 which also caused a spinal fracture, since this treatment of RT + a plate & screws from L1 to L4 my incontinence has been worse, going from 1 pad per day to sometimes 3 Average 2.
Is there anything else about that can help with this apart from Pelvic exercise.
My Wife says her Urologist mentioned a tablet for men with Urinal Incontinence a while ago though.
Any ideas?
Many thanks

A urologist can do bladder cystometry in the office and determine the type of incontinance. Overflow from denervatuon overfilling or obstruction vs spasmodic urge incontinence etc. that information is required to select the proper treatment. Sorry about the L2 met and surgery. Bladder function is controlled by nerves at lower segments I believe such as S2-4. But compromised descending nerve roots at the level of the cancer or surgery needs to be ruled out and corrected if that is the case. Good luck. Paul.
If it's urge incontinence, you could try Myrbetriq (generic: mirabegron), which is working for me. But my problem isn't as severe as yours, and like Mateo says, you have to first find out what kind of incontinence you have - it sounds like something more than urge.
My husband ended up needing his bladder removed. I have no idea if that is the appropriate fix for you. However, if it is….please don’t put it off. My husband did and ended up with perineal abscesses from the lack of ability to void. The subsequent problems and surgeries needed were much more difficult than his urostomy
Thanks for the replies people I'll try & get an appointment to see my Dr or Urologist & try some medication first I think before any further operations.

I was using approximate two pads per day. My urologist said, after testing, I have some bladder spasticity and restared on oxybutynin which made it significant difference. One month ago I had an artificial sphincter installed. In another month, I will find out how well this works.
Myrbetriq worked for my husband for a couple of years. Lately it doesn’t seem to be working. When I called urologist office I got the message from the doc that there are more modern medications that work better then Myrbetriq. Probably way more expensive, too. We have an appointment in July.
