Thanks. One oncologist I met became an atheist after studying the immune system. He felt that a just God would never have allowed such a system to arise.

It does what evolution has prepared it to do. Sometimes it works to our advantage, sometimes it doesn't. For men with prostate cancer, it mostly doesn't. Remember, that a beneficial mutation only gets incorporated into the genome, and harmful mutations only gets weeded out, among people who are reproducing. That leaves us old farts out of the evolutionary game.
