COVID treatment when taking Xtandi

podsart profile image

As I see many of my fully vaccinated friends and neighbors getting COVID, some including pneumonia, I wonder what COVID Treatments are available to Xtandi users. I understand that paxlovid is contraindicated for Xtandi users. Does anyone know what effective COVID treatments for Xtandi users are widely available?

I had 2 X Pfizer shots and a Pfizer booster, whilst always being on Xtandi. I experienced no issues or side effects.

Thanks, but looking for which Covid meds are safe for xtandi users, if they actually get Covid

Hello, I had two Pfizer shots, one Pfizer booster and one Moderna booster. No side effects and no Covid (although it did hit our grown children). I have been on Xtandi (enzalutamide) for nearly five years.

Thanks, but I was interested in what us xtandi users can take in terms of specialized Covid Meds, in the unfortunate case we actually get Covid.

You could do no worse than to get a script for Ivermectin, stock-up on 10,000 IU of Vit D and some Vit C powder augmented with Zinc (or a supply Zn glycinate or similar if the Vit C is unaugmented).

Failing a Ivermectin script get some Quercetin - both are zinc-transporters and Zn is a viral-replication disrupter par excellence..

If you have no Covid then take the Ivermectin/Zn as a prophylactic.

There are several protocols on the net for Ivermectin/Zn/vD/vC prophylaxis which is not nearly as intense a med regime as the early-treatment regimes. Ivermectin is a very very effective anti-viral.

The Pfizer phase 3 trial protocols excluded cancer patients as well as pregnant women.

Many doctors , physicians, professors, mRNA inventors, experts and even the DOD have warned (and seen) the uptick of a whole suite of degenerative disease that very neatly coincides with the mRNA - rollout. AND it's documented for all to see if they are interested enough.

So don't go taking the mRNA until better safer and demonstrably efficacious meds come through ie proper, completed and documented performance and repeatable verification. And don't fall for the current smoke-and-mirrors of 'there is no alternative' - millions have proved that one wrong with Ivermectin as prophylaxis and as early-treatment.

There it is "covid treatment" in the posters subject line. An open door for you even though his question had nothing to do with MRNA or conspiracies to hide side effect information.

No comment about drugs and Xtandi. Serum levels of 50 ng/ml of Vitamin d have been shown to be highly protective against Covid. Also flu.

2 Moderna + booster and still got covid. Very mild case, so at least the shots seemed to tame the beast....

I, too, received two Moderna shots plus booster and still got Covid. Very, very sick for two days with Covid cough for several months.

thanks, do you have a sense where you caught the COVID bug?

If you went for treatment, did they offer you anything, say monoclonol antibodies?

I have Covid right now and have been Xtandi Lupron Zometa for44 months. I have three moderna jabs , always wear a mask and isolate …. The wife got sick first, a few days before I did. Obviously she brought it home, so just goes to show you. Yayaha My GP says there are no issues or contradictions and has dismissed the topic. I have a mild case, lots of interesting SEs but none “ all that “ …

I guesstimate that I’m in nearly a week at this point …. My case has been light.

Pavlovid never came up … the Covid moderna vaccine and the monoclonal antibodies that I’m getting soon , said they have no contradiction ( contraindications ) with any of my pile of other drugs , adt drugs and supplements.

I cant remember (nothing new lol) was there a name for the monoclonal antibody drug Kaiser said they will be giving you?

Yes it’s called Evushield which is a combination of drugs named Tixagevimab and Cilvagimab.

BTW good to see you up and around a bit maybe.

I'm ready to wind down or honestly about ready to hit the sack here in the central time zone. I was out of bed too early today lol.

Thanks, good info. Where I am, seems to be lack of xtandi/covid info available. All you guys are great.

Seven months later and there is *still* a lack of full information on using Xtandi and Paxlovid together. I've been all over the net researching that and talking to my medical team. The bottom line: Paxlovid is being authorized for 5-day use in limited situations by FDA on an emergency basis. They know there is a class of drug interactions between these two. Mainly, Xtandi weakens the effectiveness of Paxlovid. In my case, the short-term benefit of Paxlovid in fighting my COVID infection outweighs the temporary discontinuance of Xtandi, even though I am relying on Xtandi to knock down my cancer. Short-term gain vs. longer-term gain, and I can go back on Xtandi in a week or so. Not to mention other drug interactions, of course, of which there is a long list.

I’ve been on Xtandi since 12/2016, I also was told by my oncologist to get the shot, I got the Covid shot and one booster last year, I didn’t have any issues but did get Covid about 6 months later. I fecieved the infusion treatment and recovered very fast. There didn’t seem to be any down side to the shot as far as Xtandi was concerned. You can call the Xtandi hot line and talk to there pharmacist if you want there opinion , keep up the fight warrior 🙏🙏🙏

Covid-relateed infusions and drugs like Paxlovid are different beasts and (I say this without research) undoubtedly have different potential drawbacks, as do most Rx drugs.

I had all three Moderna shots as soon as possible. I am on Lupron and Zytiga/Prednisone with extensive pleural tumors in one lung. Despite being very careful and masking, I got Covid in January, mildly sick. I was able to get a monoclonal antibody infusion since the oral antivirals were not available. Symptoms cleared quickly but my rapid covid test stayed positive for almost 2 weeks. Waited the 90 days before getting a Pfizer 4th shot. I am very uncomfortable being in large crowds, public transportation, grocery stores, etc without a mask so I always put one on when in those situations.

Thanks, glad you recovered quickly, monoclonals seem to be a possibility

I asked my GP that during my 6 month checkup yesterday, he told me that given my history and age (64) he would prescribe monoclonal antibody treatment without hesitation. I was pleasantly surprised that he was aware of the Paxlovid contradiction with Xtandi, he said it’s a very complicated drug and interacts with many other drugs as well.
