We are looking into going to Germany for treatment living in USA. Who has/had experience with Dr. Baum. Bad Berka?

New treatment
I have been to the University of Heidelberg. Had LU-177 and AC-225. In remission.
He's moved to Wiesbaden, but Heidelberg and Munich Technical University are also major centers. Worldwide, there is no Lutetium 177 right now.
Hi Allan. Any idea when Lu-177 will be available again? I know it only has so much life to it so you want to take it while it's fresh.
Chris McCue
I have been treated twice by Dr. Baum when he was at Bad Berka. The treatment was successful and I am currently in remission. My experience with Dr. Baum was great. He is just outside of Frankfurt now which makes for a much easier trip. Getting to Bad Berka was a flog!
I would be happy to give you more detail if you need it.
Cheers!
I would like more details. Where did you start from? How long? Nice accommodations and stuff to do while cooling your heels in Germany? My father lives in Paris and I could stay there and take a TGV if the time between treatments is long. My father offered to pay. How much did it cost? Any idea on when LU 177 might be available again? Get your crystal ball out please.
So I am 58 years old living in Southern California. Diagnosed in March 2018 with Stage 4 metastatic Prostate cancer. Started ADT June of 2018. Was not happy with my prognosis so I explored LU-177 treatment in Germany. Found Dr. Baum who agreed to treat me even though I was early in my treatment. First treatment was March of 2019, second was June of 2019. Treatment was successful as I am now in remission. As far as accommodations Bad Berka was a bit rough. Since Baum is right outside Frankfurt now, if you decide to see him you will have no problem with nice accommodations and good food. I am sure Heidelberg and Munich would be nice as well.
The cost was 13,000 euros per trip. That includes five days in the clinic, food, scans, treatment and Doctors fee. As far as the shortage of LU-177 in the U.S. I have no clue. I think Tall Allen posted on this recently.
Hope that helps. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions.
Good Luck!
Try Dr Ishita Sen in Delhi and save some money. She is very good!
Have you tried her? Can you please give more details? Cost , accomodations and length of treatment. Thank you so much!
I am a little reluctant to just throw information to you without knowing if your MO Dr. suggested or if you have done your homework regards to Lu-177.
I think Dr. Ishitasen includes the important FDG Pet scan along with the PSMA scan to insure the PSMA load is high enough for the treatment to be effective and so that non-PSMA cells don't take over and take off into fast progression.
So I found this thread which has dialogue about Fortis Medical in India.
Looks like a member here paid US $6600 for one set of scans and treatment.
Hi there, Two people here used them at Fortis. They were about 3 or 4 tumors to the lymph nodes, but may have been bone. They at least got remission, but who knows how long that will last. At least she does the other thing to see if it looks like it will work. I would I imagine they did that with other people.
