Anyone here have more than 4 cycles of Lu-177? Interested in standard protocol because it is so new. Unsure if it can be repeated after bone marrow tests.

Mike
The cycles for LU 177 PSMA could be 4 or up to 6 depending on the response and the treatment adverse events. There are some data showing that is possible to re challenge the cancer after an initial treatment cycle (4 to 6).
Leader,
I did 6 cycles of LU 177 as part of the Vision trial. It worked well through 4 cycles then my PSA started rising.
I will be traveling to Turkey for and AC225 treatment I’ll post how that goes.
Where did you get your first treatment of Lu-177?
Jack pineI talked with Dr. Eugene Kwon last week about treatment their. Did you get treated with him in the last year?

Yes I’m being being treated by Dr. Kwon, I did the LU 177 Vision trial at the Mayo as well. I responded well to the LU 177 but my cancer is continuing to March on through all the treatments. So I’m going to Turkey to receive treatment with AC225. Kind of a cheap moon shot!
Does Mayo have AC-225 available as a treatment? If you are going to Turkey sounds like insurance not involved. I thought Ac-225 was available in Germany. Could I ask the cost estimate for Ac-225 in Turkey?Mike
Thanks for the update. Waiting to hear from other if they chose Ac-225 or second round of Lu-177 for recurrence

Ok, here goes:
78 years old, diagnosed in 2004, had cryotherapy that year with Dr. Doug Chinn in Arcadia after 3+4 Gleason , PNI, ECE, and some seminal invasion.
Jump to late 2015 with rising PSA…..went to Nayo and had Choline C-11 Pet scan with Dr. Kwon. In March 2016 went to Fuerth Germany for HIFU treatment with Dr. Chinn and his German colleagues. Complications included kidney problems but was able to fly home to Seattle.
First heard about Gallium 68 PET scan and Lu-177 while there in Fuerth in 2016. Acquired c-diff in hospital back in Seattle upon return to remove 2 ureter stents placed in Germany 6 weeks before. Was In rehab for 2 months after an emergency lameniectomy to save spinal cord from being crushed……close call.
Started Firmagon in October 2019 after Cyberknife was used to treat seminal vesicles.
CTScan in December 2019 showed 12 bone Mets. Switched to Orgovyx from Firmagon following month. Requested Docetaxel for 6 cycles. June 2021 choline scan at Mayo showed 11 healing bone Mets, 1 still progressing. Started Zytiga, prednisone, Zometa in September 2021. PSA still rising now after 7 drops in a row last year during chemo. PSA now at 41 with no pain anywhere….Dr. Kwon suggested last week to try Lu-177 next month at Mayo Rochester. Want a back up plan which might include a triplet therapy discussed in March 24, 2022 issue of NEJM……..Nubequa might finally include metastatic patients.
Mike
Sorry if I missed it, but why the emergency laminectomy, what was the specific reason and what was happening there.
Apparently, a bacterial infection from the epidural spinal injection in March 2016 in Fuerth caused a “infectious sac”by April in my spinal column. LOTS of denial surrounding cause but no denial about needed procedure. The laminectomy went well at Swedish hospital in Seattle performed by a German borne surgeon no less who knew some of the docs in Fuerth.
Thank you for your quick and detailed reply. It's a good idea to copy and paste your detailed reply as your bio on your home page. It will help you and help other members in the future.
I must apologize for requesting your bio inasmuch as you've started posting here 11 months ago and I normally only request this information from Newbies. I rarely make mistakes and when I do it usually turns out to be my wife's fault. There goes her extra ration of grog tonight.....Try smiling and get well...... Regards....
