Xtandi timing

john205 profile image
34 Replies

I have had an excellent response to Xtandi for around 18 months but I have recently experienced intense fatigue, especially in the evening. I usually take it at around 7 AM so the problem is most intense 12-14 hours later. I guess it may not be the Xtandi, and I do not want to stop it or lower the dose, but there is nothing else going on. Any thoughts about timing for the daily dose that may be less troublesome?

As I recall taking xtandi with food is easier on the side effects.

My MO said food or no food should not matter. But I prefer a snack before bed so I have another excuse to eat cookies

Hi John been on full dose Xtandt take at evening before bed. I had fatigue the next afternoon and I found relief the past two month by increasing hydration.

Hello, I have been on Xtandi (enzalutamide) for four years and six months. To overcome fatigue, take it at night. You sleep better and wake up refreshed!

Yup, I take mine before bed. Probably better to take it a couple of hours before bed as others have said but I seem to have got into a bad habit of taking it immediately before bed. Almost certainly due to the fact that I am still working.

I’ve been on it now for 64 months. I found out early that I had to take it after supper to beat the side effects. Just saying. Keep up the battle warrior 🙏🙏

I can also suggest Provigil, a medication I've been on for a few months. It helps with fatigue and alertness. Mention it to your oncologist.

So, does anyone take Zytiga before bedtime? I do take mine with food but in the morning. Interesting discussion. Thanks.

Eliguard +10 months 160mg 10 months 80mg all at 9 pm. Currently on med vacation. It is what it is no matter when you take it IMO. All I know it was a miracle drug for me. But every day the horrific hot flashes, fatigue that is debilitating, memory pretty close to Alzheimer’s. That’s my experience. Just 2 months in on vacation and just starting to come out of the fog. Light at end of tunnel. Starting to smell the roses. Keep fighting!!
