You may qualify for the PSMAddition trial:

Do you know where this is? The link doesn’t link a location

At the top of the 'clinicaltrials' page on the right there is a link " See Contacts and Locations ". It jumps to a position of the page where there is a link "Show Show 52 study locations". If you click on that it opens a drop-down list of the locations.

I was ruled out for using Zytiga. They are looking for people that were only on Lupron, no 2nd gens.

Have you thought of having chemo? That would qualify you for more trials and since you are younger may be able to tolerate chemo better.

I really don’t want to do chemo. At 58 I never thought I’d utter that word. So sad

I don't think anyone ever wants chemo but after reading extensively on here it has helped many to stay alive. There is lots of advice on how to minimize damage. We regret not having it sooner in the progression of Grumpy's cancer.

Do you think you might qualify for that PSMAAddition trial and is there a convenient location for you? I see it's available in Omaha and Dr. Luke is wonderful to work with.

Try to stay positive for your kids. I know it's hard when you think of not being there for them but use this forum to get your negative thoughts out in the open. If your kids are old enough they can help you get through this and it will make you all stronger people for the rest of your lives.

I’m 58 and just did my 14th dose of Jevtana…it sucks, but I’m still north of the grass. My unsolicited advice is to keep the PC under control for as long as possible by whatever means necessary. Find the best oncologist you can find and go with it. Even if there was a trial that you qualify for, there’s no guarantee you’ll get in…there’s a lot of competition out there.

I believe you can get this ar a fairly reasonable price in Australia and not have to qualify for chit.

And I think maybe also you can get it in India.

Try looking in those two places and see what the cost is.

Keep in mind PMSA isn't magic. And if you have a mix of PMSA and non PMSA cancer, treating with it is as good as not treating with anything.

You need to first get a PMSA scan and a non PMSA scan and compare them.

Have you done that yet?

It is not an option to not do that.

And any doc, any where in the world, who would treat you without doing that, you should run from.

There are people here who have gone to, and or have shopped prices in Australia and or India.

See what they have to say.

I don't see where you live. But Novartis is conducting Phase III trials now with the requirement of no prior Chemo. I'm involved with one being coordinated at Dana Farber. Dr. Beltran is heading this effort.

I live in Maryland. A friend of mine has Beltran for a MO and loves her.

I wonder if I would qualify. Do u know the trial number

This is a Novartis trial at DF, and may be the one:clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...

In this trial, you must have progressed while on either abi or enza. Those in the control arm will get the other of whichever of the two they failed, and the experimental arm gets the Lu. (Progression in the control arm will allow you to crossover to Lu.)

It does stipulate no prior chemo, but I think if you are still hormone sensitive that would be a deal breaker.

This trial is for metastatic castrate resistant patients. Longterm101 asked for trials for hormone-sensitive patients.

Yes, you linked to the appropriate trial. I was just trying to clarify exactly which Lu trial I think can be found at Dana Farber. To my knowledge (and according to the link), the trial you linked is not being run at Dana Farber. Or is it possible some locations do not get listed on the trials site?

There will be additional locations added. In Germany the study will be offered in Münster, Köln, Munich, Würzburg, Rostock, and Essen. None of these is listed yet.

I first met with Dr. Beltran in the Fall of 2021. My PSA was not yet above 2.0 but doubling time was 3 months. Here name was mentioned here so I shot her an email. She called me that afternoon on a Saturday. Nothing but positive vibes.

There is Bullseye also but think you may have to live in Holland for this one

clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...

I enquired about both last year but ended up having Lu-177 privately outside a trial as I wanted it quickly. I did 3 with no side effects but now having 3 chemos on recommendation of my onco to mix up the treatment. This is very non- standard I appreciate so started Lu-177 every 4 weeks from 10th Dec for 3 treatments and had one chemo last week.

I didn’t want chemo either which is why I enquired but as my PSA is dropping and scans looking good I didn’t want to say no to chemo and find the cancer repopulated after Lu-177 stopped. 3 cycles is not as scary as 6! I am on HT since 25th November 2021 so no idea what is contributing what but just want to see the PSA go even lower and the scans even clearer

Bullseye is for less than 5 mets by the way which is where I was at the start of 2021 but not by the November despite having SBRT to my first two mets.

PSA 17.6 and rising in Nov was 0.46 after two Lu-177 treatments and Degarelix injections. Next test due Monday!

Great aggressive approach. Good luck to you brother.

Brysonal profile image
Brysonal in reply to MateoBeach

Thank you. No idea what’s doing what but PSA yesterday was down again to 0.25 from 0.46 14 days prior. This is after Degarelix since Nov, Lu-177 x3 Dec/ Jan/Feb and 1 week after first docetAxel ‘bomb’

I was not agressive enough when curable as diagnosed with a Gleason 6 (3+3) contained in prostate and went hifu route so metastatic diagnosis a couple of months later was a complete shock!

So this time I am going with a completely aggressive strategy! Feeling fine atm but appreciate chemo is cumulative impact. Two more planned.

Dr. Ishita Sen in Dehli has posted on here several times. Her clinic offers Lutetium it at a lower rate then the ones mentioned here. You can send her your scans for her opinion. If you search her name you will find many interesting posts from others as well.

Currently, there is an ongoing multicentric clinical trial in Netherland with names "The BULLSEYE trial" conducted by Baastiaan et. al. The trial is recruiting oligometastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer patients who have not received any prior chemotherapy.

We have also treated few chemotherapy-naive hormonal sensitive prostate cancer patients at our clinic, after due informed consent from patients on an experimental basis. The result obtained are quite encouraging. However, there is still significant paucity of the published data in this group of patients. The therapy is still in very nascent stage for these patients and decisions can be made on an individual basis.

Hi I am in Queensland Australia GL9tried for LU177 as first treatment but refused by 2 different doctors

I am being treated at Vanderbilt medical in Nashville Tennessee. They are conducting a trial there for Lu-177. I did not qualify for it. Dr. Schaffer at the Ingram cancer center is in charge of the trail. She told me that it should be approved sometime this year by the FDA, which will make it much easier to get treatment. Thanks

Eddie

FINALLY I START GETTING MY THIRD SHOP OF LU177, SO FAR LOOK IS WORKING SOME OF MY BONE BACK PAIN, I GOT 4- QUIMOS BUT DID NOT WORK, I TRIED ALL TYPES OF ADT MEDICATIONS THAT WORK FOR A FEW MONTHS BUT PSA START GOING UP AGAIN, KEEP CHANGING, SO FAR WITH MY SECOND SHOT OF LU177 PSA STOP GOING UP. I GET MY LUPRON SHOP EVERY THREE MONTHS. I WAS WAITING FOR THE LU177 FOR TWO YEARS BUT FINNALY IS HERE AND WAS APPROVED BY MY INSURANCE, YOU NEED TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR AND GET A SPECIAL SCAN TO GET THE MEDICATION, THERE ARE 6 TREATMENT TOTAL WITH ONE MONTH AND HALF BETWEEN THEM.

luis85715 profile image
luis85715

I RECOMEND TO GET THE LU177 IN USA BECAUSE YOU FEEL A LITTLE SIDE EFFECT TWO DAY AFTER THE SHOP, PLUS IMAGINE PAY TRIP, HOTEL, FOOD 6 TIMES THAT TREATMENT LAST. DO NOT WORRY TOO MUCH I WAS DIAGNOSIS WITH PROSTATE CANCER IN 2012 AND MY PROSTATE WAS REMOVED USING DAVINCI SURGERY, BUT TWO YEARS LATER MY PSA START SHOWING UP AGAIN AND METASTASIS TO FEW SPOTS IN MY BONE. SO FAR LU177 WITH 2 SHOPS IS WORKING AND SLOW MY BODY PAIN. KEEEP IT UP.

My MO at Rocky Mtn Cancer center says they are starting a trail for ADT sensitive patients, exclusion is prior treatment with Lu177 or with chemo.

Sorry, no because I don't qualify as I've had prior Lu177 and chemo. My MO at RMCC is Dr Patrick Eulitt, and you probably can get more info by contacting his office in Denver.
