Due to depressive state of mind, my pschycologist prescribes nexito plus once daily (CLONAZEPAM-0.5MG + ESCITALOPRAM-5MG)
Any positive or negative relation exists between this and pca?

I use benzos as well …xanax. I used to take them twice a day. Couple of years. Both nocturnal CPAP waking anxiety and cancer anxiety. Tho they work miraculous for both needs, after taking them for a long while … forgetting to take them or just stopping abruptly can lead to “ extremely “ unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. I emphasize the extreme part. I rarely use them nowadays, only in very needy circumstances , purely because of the ugly nasty withdrawal symptoms associated with using these. Just a heads up … this is my own humble experience, yours may vary dramatically. As always , consult with your medical care team before starting or quitting / abruptly quitting any medication.
Love ya brother, take care ❤️❤️❤️
Will remember you caution Kaliber, actually didn't take it throughout my longish journey of 10 chemo, but my psychologist keeps on saying I need it and I am also feeling a bit down for various reasons, mainly despair, so thinking of taking her advice for once.
First and foremost, if your medical team thinks you need it then of course use it. With benzos particularly , you’ll know how much they help almost immediately. It works miracles for me , helping me, in the darkest of times. IMHO always follow your medical team’s instructions. You trust them with your life ,then trusting them about benzos is a no brainer.
In addition to ordinary addiction issues … I think another important take away from what I have posted is about stacking ( withdrawal SEs and the anxieties ).
For one context I’ll use me for an example. One important benzo use is for the anxiety I sometimes experience related to all the debilitation in my life caused by my cancer and adt meds. I’ll wake up in the mornings, evidently having dreaming about the ugly stuff all night long. This may also be combined with asphyxiation anxiety using a CPAP ( I take them for several other uses like nocturnal CPAP panic attacks )
Love brother ❤️❤️❤️
The morning syndrome is there , I do fall apart some days, but most of the days I recover with my morning exercise regime, probably I am still not in the severe anxiety category, I thought so when I refused this med 6 months back, I think your opinion is as clear as it gets,do this med only if it is absolutely necessary - I am giving myself another chance, deciding not tp take this med now, I took it yesterday night, immediately felt bad, too lousy feeling in bright sunny Sunday morning.
I hear that brother. For me , if something ( a med ) will make my QOL better I’m all for it. Benzos work well for a range of anxieties , but there are a lot of other meds out these days that help guys like us dramatically. I read about guys that get those meds ( sorry , I forget their names … Lupron fog yayahahahaya) a lot here on the group and swear by them . They say they help dramatically.
your medical team has medical resources they can connect you up with a wide array of meds that can make the mental stress and anxiety side of this disease ever so much more comfortable. I’d run this by them in detail and they can probably prescribe something that will be immensely effective. Can’t hurt to give it a whirl. There are so many of those new drugs nowadays that one is almost certainly going to be a good fit for you.
Most of those are probably less of a risk addiction wise as well. You might keep benzos for break thru events like panic attacks and the daily med to keep things level and happy generally. Your crew will probably let you try several different meds to see which fits your needs.
Just say’in ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Kaliber,
I really appreciate your effort to make sure that i can really feel your experience, it also made sure that I fight with more vigour with my negative self rather than just depending on another hand (already enough of them). I am promising to show more steel and whenever I will feel down, I will try to remind me that "promises must be kept".

Tharze no up side to having stage 4 cancer and having to judge your day ….every morning … by how screwed up I am this morning. I , for one , don’t wake to “ dancing little candies, all in a row “ ..( Mr Rogers ). Plus some of us are worse than others …but in all cases, it’s perfectly natural and extremely easy to get bummed out and feel negative about everything. Who wouldn’t. As I said, some here are much worse than others … there is some solace in not being in that super trashed group … today. Doesn’t sound like you are there … in that group … yet …. and it’s easy to perceive that your cognitive functions are still intact and sharp. That’s ALL good stuff brother. Having this group as a resource and being able to bounce off your brothers here is another valuable resource ( besides your family and medical team ). Who gets you better and understands more than we do. I inevitably get dragged down by thinking about everything now and then …. But I try to immerse myself in what I’m going to do today ( starting right here and right now ) and squeezing the all juice possible out of the rind “ today, starting right now “ , to quote another tired metaphor. Staying busy ….. busy enough to keep your mind off things not only works well, it’s fun If you are staying busy doing fun things you like. Mobility is a very valuable plus as well ( something I’ve lost most of ).
So ….. I went to my famous doctor ….. Doctor Benny Boombah ….. and told him all this and he told me “ cheer up, things could be MUCH worse “ !
So…… I took his advice and went home and proceeded to cheer up. and you know what ? …. He was right … things got much worse. Yayahahahaya yayahahahaya
Cheer up buddy, your positive self can kick your negative self’s gluteus maximus .. twice over. You have plenty of strength inside you, ……. a fist full of good drugs , a case of beer and a bushel of cannabis doesn’t hurt either yayahahahaya yayahahahaya.
Just say’in

Sure adds a little sugar to help the medicine go down.. or to forget the big C for at least a little while...
Diazepams work well, but Kaliber speaks truth when he says that withdrawal from them is very difficult, especially if taken for an extended period. They can be highly addictive, and like all drugs are less effective over time and the dose must be increased. Use caution!
In addition to the withdrawal potential, studies have identified use of benzos as a potential cause of dementia in seniors.
Conclusions
This meta-analysis that pooled ten studies has shown that BDZ significantly increases the risk of dementia in the elderly population. The risk is higher in patients taking BDZ with a longer half-life (>20 hours) and for a longer duration (>3 years).
Also increases risk of fall injuries due to postural hypotension in the older population.
Thanks Nal!
