I have read and heard different things about do WE- those in Cancer treatment need a 4th Covid shot -
some say yes - 5 months after the "booster"
some say no - not needed
CDC seems to call the 3rd shot the 3rd dose and the one after that is the booster .
Would be glad to here any input on this

I had three full doses of Moderna, last one six months ago in August, and recently checked my antibodies with the Labcorp test, which were >2500 at the upper limit. So I'm not getting a 4th until there is a targeted dose for Omicron/Delta. The antibody test is not definitive as a measure of protection, hasn't been studied enough, but I'm going with it nevertheless.
I had three full doses of Moderna as well. Like you my last was in August.. I became very sick after doses 2 and 3. Woke up early morning with terrible nausea, vomiting, chills. Basically out of commission, in bed for almost 2 days. Did you have any strong SEs from Moderna? Still, it was worth it to me to get the protection.
Same injections as you, no after effects.
Yes, I had similar reactions after #2,3 Moderna— started with a bad headache, very sore arm, fluish for two days, then a little tightness in the chest on the third day, which may have been myocarditis. One thing I learned since is— the injection should be aspirated to make sure it’s not going directly into the bloodstream— which is the norm in some countries, but not the US. I would bet some of the stronger reactions were due to not aspirating and the needle finding a vessel.
I had the two Moderna 'shots' ('jabs' in the UK: ) last February & the booster 6 months ago. According to the study I read yesterday, the booster isn't very effective after 4 months.
Anyway, the omicron spike has almost played out &. like timotur, I'll wait & see (unless a lethal vaiant emerges.)
How long before "herd immunity"?

I too am waiting for something more dangerous before doing a second booster. Might want to consider Novavax for that 2nd booster (pay wall)wsj.com/articles/covid-vacc...
lots of info about bad reactions ... guess I am lucky. Except for a little soreness at the injection site for a day or 2 - as I get from the Eligard or Lupron
I see 2 other Drs in early March - will keep you all informed of their decision.

I had all three Pfizer injections...... No issues at all...... Got a letter from the Govt. saying 3 more boosters are required with a span of 28 days between injections. We will become the walking dead..............or be programmed to watch Olympic curling....

3 for me followed by sick with + covid test 3 weeks later...just had bad cough and runny nose. No other symptoms. I must really be immune after shots and covid.....
My husband is in the middle of chemo, but if he wasn’t, he would be getting his booster now. I am not sure it’s a good time for him to get it now, as he may not have as robust of an immune response. His third dose was early September so he is due.
Had three Moderna jabs. Sick for two days after the booster. Caught COVID three weeks ago. COVID was like a bad cold for two days.
Had first booster 24/10/21 invites second 13 weeks later 23/1/22 luckily no ill effects hopefully how things are in uk could be just an annual booster like flu
I have had a 4th shot (Pfizer) for immune suppression due to kidney transplant. Chemotherapy can also reduce the immune system. Suggest anyone who has had chemo seeks medical advice.
Had my 2 shots Pfizer during chemo and then the third 3 months post chemo. Almost 6 months since the boost but really not sold on the 4th, if ever.
Can't find the article but I did read that the 4th shot efficacy hasn't been established as of yet! Maybe because it's not brewed for the current variant. Ultimately, it's all good. Still vigilant with masking and hand sanitizing. I also use EnoVid nasal spray when I've attended large crowd gatherings...

I got my 4th moderna shot, the science is saying those of us chemo folk and immunocompromised should get a booster at around 4 months. I got mine at 6, two weeks after chemo (one week before next chemo) per my MO. SE were the usual chills & fever for 36 hours which I experienced with #2 and #3 as well.
I got my 4th shot of moderna a couple of weeks ago, my onco recommended it, I experienced the mildest side effects of the 4 shots I received from it. A little head ache, muscle aches and fatigue for 2-3 days. It’s all about keeping symptoms mild if and when I get Covid.

I had three jabs of Pfizer and yesterday got a Moderna booster after 5+ months.
A bit off-topic, but anyone following the news on Evusheld? It's a two-shot AstraZeneca treatment designed especially for high-risk groups. Protects against Covid and to be taken PRIOR to infection or exposure, as I understand it.
Received FDA EUA in December 2021 and available now in the US and elsewhere.

My husband, who has CLL in addition to PCa, was randomly chosen by Mayo JAX to receive Evusheld. Mayo JAX chose from among CLL/SLL, rheumatology, and oncology patients. It is a prophylactic given in two intramuscular injections. It is a MAB, as I understand from the administrator at Mayo JAX, the only prophylactic currently recommended for CLL patients. Husband's CLL specialist, also at Maxo JAX, recommended that he not get Evusheld quite yet, but his local MO and his infectious diseases specialist both recommend that he get it while the very short supply is still available. He gets it next week. Husband produced no antibodies to any of the three Pfizer injections. I will hopefully have more details next week.
A very good question I will pose to my onc when I see her this week. I received Moderna 1 and 2 almost a year ago with no side effects. I received the 3rd (or booster) last August. Received the shot about 9:30 in the morning. By 2:00 that afternoon I was in bed with what seemed to be a very severe case of the flu. Literally did not have the strength to get out of bed which is VERY rare for me even in the case of the worst illnesses I have ever experienced. A couple of weeks later I was diagnosed with Covid. Coincidence? I don't know. It is all very confusing and no two people seem to have the same story. I am 78, have been dealing with recurrent PC for almost 14 years.
My oncologist said no to a 4th shotHe said studies in Israel actually show it reducing efficacy.
I was also told I’m not compromised as I am only going for radiation
I'm going for an antibody test before I even think about a fourth jab. If I still have high antibody levels, I'll wait. These synthetic jabs to chase a synthetic virus can't be good for anybody.
For those who received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine AND are immunocompromised, the CDC considers 3 doses as Primary, with the 3rd occurring 28 days after the 2nd, AND recommends getting a 4th, i.e. booster, dose 5 months after the 3rd dose. This applies to the mRNA vaccines.
Had my 3rd dose during the 4th of 6 rounds of Chemo with no reaction; then 5 months later got the 4th dose, with significantly greater reaction than any of the prior doses. Very sore around the site of injection, chills began about 8 hrs. later and progressively increased for about 16 hours total with mild muscle aching and fatigue/sleepiness. All symptoms subsiding completely about 30 hours after the time of injection.
this is what I understand from my HIV Doc - from CDC but oncologist says 4th dose not needed. I respect both Dr's very much - I believe that a big part of my being alive today is their excellent care. I find it interesting - and not surprising that there are varied points of view. Covid - and exactly how to treat it is not an either - or. It is science - which I respect and the nature of science is that we are always learning - just like all the different treatments and options for Prostate Cancer.
BTW - for what ever it's worth: this week is the 5th anniversary of diagnosis. I remember hearing " 5 to 7 years ". Last week's PSA was <0.03 - he calls that undetectable. He also insisted - in Nov - made me promise - that I would do physical therapy to strengthen my legs- It's working. We chatted about bucket list travel - I mentioned that though I want to see Machu Picchu it was probably too late for me. He said not at all. Keep up the PT and exercise and there is no reason not to go. Start planning. I'm looking at fall 22

And for whatever it’s worth, my main reason for not waiting to see how the COVID vaccine would effect everyone else before getting it myself was based on the opinion of a very close friend and scientist who has been working with mRNA technology for decades.
He questioned the benefit of my getting a third dose while in the middle of six rounds of Chemo, and I had no side effects accompanying that dose; unlike the 4th dose which I got 3 months after finishing Chemo. His response to this was that the side effects accompanying that 4th dose were good indicators of the production of antibodies as a result of it.
just what you needed to hear - sure - it happens for me all the time and I believe in passing it on - energy ? connectedness ? living human being? I believe in all of that and participate on giving and receiving as much as possible>Best

IMO it’s hardly experimental.
Rushed(1yr vs 10yrs) testing prior to experimenting on the worlds population, more reactions and deaths from this shot than any other vaccine in the last 30+ years. Now reports of the shot actually weakening the natural immune system. Time will tell but it ain’t looking good so far.

My local morgue, hospital, etc. is not full of dead people from the vaccine.

Cancer patients and immunocompromised people in British Columbia, Canada will be offered a fourth dose this spring. This is based on recommendations from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization.
I will be getting mine once it is available. I follow the advice of the public health experts. They know more about COVID and the vaccines than I will ever know.
I had my two Moderna shots right on schedule. My 'booster' shot was also a Moderna vaccine, but half the dose of the previous two. I had that in late Sept. I am starting to wonder if another shot is in my future.
Are being in prostate cancer treatment and being immunocompromised necessarily equivalent conditions requiring additional Covid19 booster shots? Doesn't it depend on what type of cancer treatment is being administered? I'm surprised we aren't trying to make a connection between PSA and the need for another Covid19 booster shot yet. 😁
Totally ignored in this discussion is the effect of Adequate levels of Vitamin D. It usually required 5000u daily. Not only does this prevent infection, but it almost eliminates cytokine storm, which is the real killer, induced by the virus1. Official recommendation of Vitamin D were designed to prevent rickets, not achieve optimal immune functioning.
2. The Dec 27 podcast from The Dark Horse podcast has a two hour discussion of Vitamin D and it’s medical politics. It’s worth your time.
Vitamin A and K2 have synergistic effects with D. I just bought for my son a six months supply of all three in one pill, available online.

Supplement with lozenges, and before I finished the first lozenge, the pain started to go away, Doing six lozenges a day, I had the mildest shortest sore throat I ever had.
Had three Moderna jabs. Sick for two days after booster. Covid + last month. Just a sore throat and fatigue.
