Now comes the test

Just finished 39 IMRT treatments to whole pelvis last week. Fourteen of those treatments were boosts to three Pylarify identified avid lymph nodes. I'm three months into the first of six month Lupron injections. I have a routine check up with my family doctor next week. My next MO appointment is in April. What blood tests would seem to be reasonable at this point?

Have you PSA checked, I sure your MO will do it.

I have a comprehensive blood test scheduled for April before seeing the MO. I was thinking more short term like hemoglobin, T level, etc.

Appreciate it.

Your doctor should order a complete blood panel and a PSA. Why is your doctor limiting the number of Lupron shots? If everything looks good at the end of 6 months, stay the course.

Not limiting... His plan is 18 months of Lupron. My thinking is at least 24 months. We will see.

Just T and CBC. To assure that Lupron is still working, and that blood is good..Much too soon for PSA- what would it mean if it were elevated? lower? - a recipe for anxiety.

In 2017, Eligard got my T down to 5. I think it would be helpful to know the level now. If it is higher, I'm thinking a "what about adding Zytiga" discussion must be in order with Armstrong. As far as PSA I agree, nothing is gained by knowing that number except anxiety.

Don't forget the vampire clot test...........You don't want Bela to keep sucking your blood before it clots....

Curious why the thyroid panel?

Ahh, got it, thanks. I was thinking more PCA related and not fatigue, but it makes sense to rule it out. I'll ask my MO about it.
