What a beautiful, heartfelt message from Jeff to you! Congratulations to you for being such a caring friend. It is rare to see such selflessness.
When we were in our late 20s, my wife and I became the caregiver for my grandmother who was in her mid-80s and had cancer. It was a huge responsibility for a young couple. We had a sitter during the weekdays while we both went to work. We took care of her every night and all weekend. This was one of the most gratifying times of our lives. She appreciated it so much.
I can promise you it’s worth it - as you clearly already know. Well done!
Jeff is such a caring and appreciative cancer warrior , you such a committed and loving caregiver… giving Jeff the strong support that he obviously needs and treasures so much. Its so powerfully uplifting and yet simultaneously very poignant.
There is a “ lot “ there for a person to digest and reflect upon in our own similar paths and lives …. down that same ole messed up road. Some of us aren’t going to be as lucky as Jeff is, ….. some will, …. life can be so fickle. It’s intense … very evocative ….
There is really nothing better than this. Love is even more powerful than we imagine sometimes, especially when we give it. Your aim is true, that much is clear.
Oh wow Stephani! What a unique dimension and a beautiful expression of love! The purity of love is not in the marriage or any other moral bond. It lies in a committed thought which is unselfish. Jeff has been privileged to face a fierce battle with courage and grit in its embrace. May you be be the same fountain that gives life to him.Thank you for sharing the kind of attachment that you have with him.
Dear Pancake_Lefse ... As Jeff says ... he is so very blest to have you at his side ... you are a rare woman .. I'm sure we all cherish support and encouragement like you give; as it means everything to us ... may God richly bless you ... best wishes ... Nous
This is a beautiful testimony. What a beautiful gift he has given you to express his heartfelt gratitude.
I too am the ex-wife of my Gilbert. I have been right by his side,( although mainly by phone because I'm disabled from a car accident) at every doctor's appointment. I have also led the way. Made sure he got the correct care. The right test. Ask the right questions. Stayed on top of his treatment. Battled with the insurance and doctors bills etc .
We have an adult son together.
He has been remarried for 20 years and I have been remarried for 8 years.
But our spouses are supportive and understand that I am the best person for the job because I have the most medical knowledge and the most time on my hands to make those phone calls and do that research and guide and protect him.
He is getting his kidney removed today.
I am officially his medical advocate and power of attorney both medically and financially.
I understand exactly where you're coming from!
This is a journey no one should have to do alone. And most definitely not the father of your children.
So many people don't understand this type of love. But it is the most heartfelt, selfless and fierce love there is.
You're doing amazing! Prayers for a blessed journey.
I am completely humbled by such a display of love towards another, towards each other... Humbled to be in the presence of such. Truly an affirmation of how much power the heart has over our brain, and all things actually...
Thank you so much for unselfishly sharing this small view onto your love that exists between you both. God Bless and Best Regards!
To reciprocate sincerity what is life without the mishaps and aggression is actually the reason why we need this. WE NEED EACH OTHER TO SHARE our compassion through tough times.GOD BLESS YOU AND EVERONE !!
