Hi all, I should probably know this, but what's the difference between the Foundation One and Decipher tests? I see a lot of posts from people who found the Decipher test results and staging helpful. In my case, I had the Foundation One test but was told by my MO at Stanford that it didn't reveal anything significant. Wondering if I should seek the Decipher to get additional insight? Thanks

Difference between Foundation One and Decipher genomic testing?
I have had two genetic tests but was wondering the same thing about Decipher.
My MO suggested Guardant 360 or Boicept. Polaris looks interesting.

Decipher is about 3.5k-5k out of pocket. A government study backed up the following:

Guardant 360 is more standard. guardanthealth.com/solution....
Looks at: MSI, EGFR, L858R, NF1 S365, TP53 Q331, SKT11 A295T, BRCA1 L1230V, EGFR (1790M and others), ALK, ROS1, BRAF, MET, ERBB2 (HER2), RET, NTRK

Decipher is a test of prostate tissue. Foundation One is a test of metastasis tissue.
Decipher shows the potential of your prostate to generate metastases. It is useful for men on active surveillance, or trying to decide how intensive to be about therapy. If you are already metastatic, it has no value for you.
Foundation One is a test of the genomics of your metastases. There are very few genomic changes that are actionable, so your results are typical. I like to see IHC analysis if the cancer seems very aggressive. It is also seldom actionable, but it may point you towards some clinical trials.
Is there any way to provide a Foundation One sample besides a biopsy?
Yes. Foundation One also does a cell-free DNA test from blood serum.
