Hi

We want to do the foundation one cdx test. Should we use the tissue from the biopsy performed in April 2020 or should we have a new biopsy?

The tissue from the biopsy last year is good enough. They sometimes use biopsy tissue that's over five yours old.

New biopsy is better. As the cancer mutates, new targetable sites may arise, others may disappear.

My father received his first chemotherapy, is it okay to do a biopsy now? There was an infection in the previous biopsythanks for your comment

I don't know of any reason why not, but ask Foundation One.

I’ve done both. The liquid biopsy later found markers helpful for me not originally detected (or perhaps not looked for)

Hello Chugach,

So glad you brought up liquid biopsy.

May I ask a few questions about the liquid biopsy......did your doctor order it for you? did your insurance cover it? if not, was it very expensive? did it guide you in making a treatment decision?

I just read something recently about two different companies doing it..... Guardant’s Guardant360 CDx and Roche’s FoundationOne Liquid CDx ....

thank you very much.

HiYes our doctor suggested. İnsurance doesn’t cover it. A biopsy was performed a year ago.

Test about 3.500$

I did foundation one on the doctor recommendation. They have some program where they waive the patient out of pocket cost. Both times I had genetic testing from Foundation 1, I was never charged. It absolutely guided me to Keytruda which saved my life and has worked amazingly well for me. Good luck and stay strong!
