Acupuncture for fatigue mitigation?

Wondering if many, or any have used alternative treatment, like Acupuncture for fatigue as a result from ADT?

Success or failure is interesting to me regardless... Please provide some feedback. I'm deciding on giving it a shot, lol.

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards

Definitely... Made an appt but wanted to see or hear about others experiences because I've never done it before! Will do it and see, lol, and maybe based upon low response rate, I may be a guinea pig, hahahaha ;)

A skilled practioner can heal a lot . I did it with some calming success my first months with tubes into my kidneys . I tried everything then . It made me feel good . But one day I went in layed down on my stomach . She was putting them in over my back then down my leg when suddenly I felt like every needle was an ice pick .I stopped it . Removed them and have never done it again . I explain this by my tolerance for pain as I lost muscle and t is now Nile . If I stubb my toe or other ordinary pains now they are amplified 10 fold .. I also became crazily accident prone . I hope that these Dont happen to you .. it’s just me .. Good luck

In Chinese medicine they give great attention to the kidneys , liver, lungs and other organs. Their goal is to help keep the organs strong. Also there is a relaxation that comes about when the body is in deep relaxation it helps reserve and restore energy. This can only be helpful. It may not cure though it could strengthen. Often people get confused between tired snd relaxed. It’s always a good idea to rest afterwards. Often a feeling of strength follows. It could be a nap is needed.

The western world pushes the body, whereas the eastern philosophy paces the body.

If I want to do acupuncture I would look for someone experienced. Usually the personality is more humble an non intrusive. Do you have someone already in mind?

It put me in a euphoric state of relaxation . That’s was very healing to me at the time . But it like anything else . There are some masters but also many with so so abilities . ❤️❤️

I understand much about 5 element theory and energy cycles in regard to Traditional Chinese Medicine... Is why I'm open to giving acupuncture a try.

This will be provided through the alternative medicine group at MSKCC :)

What ADT agents are you on? What is your physical exercise program? How many times a week do you exercise hard enough to sweat?

I did it up until covid stopped me. I enjoyed it very much and while I never had fatigue or hot flashes from ADT the acupuncture was a wonderful experience. In the early days I meditated at all my appointments, scans and treatments when left alone but this was one I went deep at. He needed to wake me everytime I was there. I may go back but my side effects didn't start when I stopped so I am pretty sure exercise is keeping them away, but I refuse to stop that to verify it's doing the job.

Richard W asks the same as I do ….what ADT drugs are you taking, how much exercise, how often?

Lupron then switched to Orgovyx, one year. Completed Docetaxel in June, not much exercise at all due to kidney stone causing flank pain (right side). Used to walk at least 12 miles per day, while working... but haven't worked since last October. Edit to add blood labs show some slight anemia. Always have had high metabolism, and even now have lost weight but stabilized around 10lbs less than normal. Appetite is decreased as well with the limited activity. Before I was diagnosed in 18' I used to work average 70hrs per week without blinking an eye. Was a martial arts karate student most of my life, worked out 5x per week, etc. Always decent shape. But I've never felt or have had the low energy and fatigue I have now, it's different...

I studied Tae Kwon Do . How about you ? I too had high energy until the pc fall . For me no t six years man . I’m like the incredible shrinking man . Although most damage shrank the first year.

I'm a traditional Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate-jutsu Kobu-jutsu student (always) with ancient Tuite (Hand Grab Arts) that centered in life protection arts, not sport, but actual "one strike" mentality, no pads by the way, lol... Awesome stuff and miss it a lot. Great group of guys...

I was getting acupuncture, with the hope that it would relieve fatigue and depression. It didn't. I eventually concluded that I had a highly toxic chemical in my body, and I needed another chemical to counterbalance it (antidepressants). I realized that my situation was like facing lethal injection, but expecting acupuncture to enable me to survive it.

Go for it...... You can then brag to your friends (except to you blow up doll) that you're officially a Pin Up.......

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

So far so good, went this morning for my 2nd Acupuncture application. Not sure if placebo, or if just getting my butt up and out early, but it seems to cause a subtle but definite causation of energy and some stamina.

We shall see...

I still have to call my insurance and convince them to cover it, lol. But I will do it if it works regardless.
