There are some drugs that can reduce hot flashes. Your MO should know what might work for you. I doubt soy or pycnogenol would do much. One thing that might work is a low-dose estrogen patch (oral estrogen can increase cardiac issues). For some doctors it is SOP. One downside is that with higher doses, gyno might be a side effect. And government studies show that it isn't effective for every guy.A bonus for estrogen is that it can help reduce the bone loss typically associated with ADT. It is also very cheap - even if you don't have insurance to pay for it.

Thanks buddy and hope all is well with you,

I'm doing well. Thanks. A couple of weeks ago I went off of the high testosterone and am currently using casodex to effectively get my t to zero. And I'm also experimenting with SARMs. I hope to grow some bone, and some muscle without interfering with my ADT- like program.

FSH and LH are zero as expected from the long exogenous T cycle. So my endogenous T is zero.

Hope all is well with you and hope you get rid of the hot flushes.

Thinking of your journey and situation as I am currently on high TRT without ADT. Two months on and two months off. Nervous of course and wondering when I will need to add ADT for the off cycles.Note that casodex will not send your T to zero. It does not block production but rather blocks androgen receptors. So actually T can rise because the body ( hypothalamus) perceives it as a deficit. But PC receptors can also remain blocked for some time so PSA and PC growth can remain blocked as well.

Not clear if the testosterone levels while on casodex mono therapy might help preserve muscle mass to some degree or other effects that are not completely blocked, as side effects are much less than on usual ADT.

I have gained 5 pounds of muscle on TRT and feel so much better. Weird having libido again like a teenager. Don’t want to weigh any more so SARM is not for me at this time.

SARMs are good for cutting in addition to muscle gain. It's not very important to me at this time but I wouldn't mind losing some fat. And muscle gain and strength are still important!

I was on Casodex a couple of years ago. T goes up a lot (my T was over 2000). I wasn't on it long enough to evaluate muscle building. But I suspect that Casodex would block T's action on skeletal muscle. I don't know about SARMs and Casodex. I haven't run across any literature about anyone doing both. I guess I'll find out.

Too early to tell what the SARMs by themselves will do (I'm doing Casodex and my T is still about 300). But this morning I used considerably more weight than I have in decades.

Great to hear you're feeling good and gaining muscle! I gained 40 lbs of muscle in two years of T. One year before my profile pic was taken I was on estrogen patch ADT and looked like a scarecrow.

After a few weeks of T I felt better than I did before cancer.

I like muscle mass partly because of residual vanity from my younger days. But also for QoL so I can do active things. And also because sarcopenia is horrible for health.

SARMs seem to be doing their job. I'm making gains in the gym. My T should be about 15 ng/dl and dropping. I just got the results back from my first PSA test. Undetectable using the standard resolution test. If my PSA is zero next month I'll start the cypionate the following month.

Excellent news. My PSA remains steady, low but detectable .08-.09, after three cycles of 6 weeks (3doses) T cypionate alternating with four weeks off. No ADT nor any other treatment.

in reply to MateoBeach

That's quite low. My main goal is to let my cancer slowly grow and die with it and not from it. Key is slowly.

Megace 20mg works well for me.

Hi Mike,

Began 18 months of ADT6/5/20 and will finish December 2022.. I had three 6-mth Lupron shots (the first one 6/5/20 and the last one 6/8/21). I also started Bicalutamide 50 mg 6/5/20. My hot flashes began in August and progressively got worse. The Doc began me with supplements. B-6, Black Cohosh, Red Clover and several others. Tried Megace to no effect. Gabapentin helped somewhat but all I wanted to do is sleep. So in March 2021 I started with an Estrogen .1mg patch. The hot flashes began to subside by the end of the first week and were totally gone in less than three weeks. Have had enough gyno to make my wife jealous. She says that they are perkier than hers.😂 At my age (67) I’m not too concerned about my physique. I wear Magellan Fisherman shirts which pretty much hides the gyno and the weight gain. I don’t regret the patch and definitely don’t miss the hot flashes. Wish you well.
