One month Holiday from Casodex, PSA increased

Hi everybody,

Being from Romania I ask your help and advice. (sorry for my poor English)

2014 RRP Gleason score 3+4 PSA 5,17

2017 SBRT 7 times at PSA 0.32

PSA climbing slowly until 0.62 in 2020, when I started 150 Mg Casodex and 10 Mg Tamoxifen

After a year I reached Nadir 0.021

My MO adviced for Holiday, but just after 1 month PSA doubled at 0.043

I have in 1 week an appointment with my MO.

Any advice how to continue?

An increase from .02 to .04 is insignificant and should be ignored. In the future, you could just get PSAs with one decimal digit, that's enough for your situation. You don't have to do anything until your PSA gets above 2. I'd enjoy life and try to forget about PSA.

That increase is meaningless for you.

Thank you, what do you think? Should I continue the Holiday, or start again ADT?

Depends on why you're taking a holiday. If you wanted symptom relief -did you get relief?

It was my MO advice , because we reached a low Nadir 0,021. The side effects we manageable hot flashes , little fattigue , 5 kg weight gain, all in 1 year. I will visit MO next week, I intend to ask him to continue ADT. What do you think? I am concerned about this very fast PSA raising. In 2 month from 0.021 to 0.043.

The only reason I can think of to take an ADT vacation is to give yourself a break from symptoms. That PSA rise is immaterial.

Those PSA readings are insignificant, stay with the casodex. I am not sure why you are taking tamoxifen.

Thanks. Tamixofen is against breast enlargement

I believe tamoxifen is taken to prevent gynecomastia caused by the Casodex.

I’ve got the man tits too. Whoohoo. . How is the tamoxifen? Any good or bad side effects. I just hate to add any more pharma to the mix . Some guys are taking boats loads ..

Hi, LULU700. I don't have any special side effects from the Tamixofen. I take it mainly for prevention, and probably because of that, I don't really have much bigger tits. I wish you all the bests.
