ZYTIGA worked for a while and then stopped working. My oncologist moved me to other medicines. They all seem to work for a while and then stop.

I started have Zytiga after my PSA rose to 20 last August, it took about 4 mo and a change in steroids to see a drop in psa to the middle 4’s. Since January my PSA is slowly rising and has reached 11 on my last blood draw in late May. As TallAlan says it’s probably time to do some chemo and then go back to these blocking drugs. I have completed Provenge, Xtandi and I am now on Zytiga. Two weeks ago I visited my Radiation Oncologist and had some Mets on my spine radiated.

The main symptoms I notice come from the steroid I take with Zytiga. Red and puffy cheeks, lacking a lot of energy most of the morning, a little floaty and hungry. My low fat low calorie breakfast with a 250mg Zytiga and 1mg dexamethasone leave me ready to eat more after a couple hours.

I never took a steroid with my zytiga. I had no dude affects but it did not work for a long time either. Why are you on a low calorie breakfast? You need to eat healthy foods but enough to satisfy you.

My oncologist took me off the thousand milligram w/steroid Zytiga with no food for 2 hours program and started a new plan of 1 250mg w/steroid and a low fat breakfast. They claim the food with the low-dose Zytiga sped up the blocking process. I am not totally convinced, concerned about insurance companies that were pushing this.
