I’m very concerned!! My husband most recently had a bone scan. He has been on Zytiga since Sept. As I had mentioned his psa was 13.3 went up a point to 14.6 then back down to to 13.7. His bone scan revealed a uptick in a couple new spots and more in the spots he had already. I spoke with his Oncologist and asked him what the plan is now? He said he didn’t feel as though the uptick in the bones was enough to change his med. I told him I’m concerned. I let a few messages with the Oncologist in Boston however I’ve yet to hear from them. I’m nervous the Zytiga is not doing it’s job obviously and no med change. The local Oncologist whom I spoke with said he is stable. How can he be stable if there are more areas on the bone scan?
Zytiga: I’m very concerned!! My husband... - Advanced Prostate...
Zytiga
Sorry - that's too small to read. What does it say?
It says. Comparison 10/23/20 Focal intense uptake at the manubrium and right glenoid similar to prior exam.Developing focal moderate to intense activity within the inferior aspect of the left scapular body and mild focal uptake to the let 7th 8th and 10th ribs. Moderate to intense uptake within the iliac bones greater on left than right and mild uptake in the thoracombular by each kidney and excretion into the urinary bladder.
Impression
Developing uptake within the left scapular body and left ribs in keeping with modest progression of disease. 😩😩 what do you think
You could request to change prednisone for dexamethasone. It could extend the efficacy of Zytiga
Hi, I am no expert but it sounds like it’s time to find something else. If you are near Boston, my brother sees Dr. Beltran at Dana Farber. Bob failed Zytiga after a few short months. He is now in a clinical trial at Yale New Haven. ARV 110 It actually degrades the AR receptor. His PSA dropped from 15 to 1.7 in four weeks. We are waiting for the latest PSA results and he will be scanned in two weeks to get a better picture. Hoping to report back here some good results. Something you may want to look into. Also, has your husband been checked for mutations?
Yes he has the cdk12 mutation. He too sees Dr Beltran waiting on a call
