Who did you see after Dr. Amato passed away?

For patients of Dr. Amato (Houston, TX), have you found a replacement and if so can you share here if you have been able to find anyone as good or close to him in care and concern? I have one, and have not been impressed by this Oncologist, although he was referred to by someone here in Dallas, TX. Thanks.

Good to hear from you my friend. I am still at Memorial Hermann. Testing every quarter. My MO is Dr. Julie Rowe who I met at Dr A’s Memorial at McGovern Medical School. She and I have talked several times; however, I see Kristi. Dr. Rowe reviews. As nothing has changed there is no great concern,

I remain undetectable and T hovers at 500. My next appointment is in two weeks.

It is hard to see another MO after you have been treated by a world class researcher. The Dean of of school explained to me that Dr A was able to do things that resulted in a sorta of “ultra standard of care” because of his credentials.

BTW, his protocol developed while at Baylor College of Medicine, lives in breast cancer research. My cousin with metastatic breast cancer was treated with the same protocol. It appears to me working after two years....

Dr. A told me that prostate cancer and breast cancer are related; more so than the average MO understands. I do not know what is going on there in regards to PCa, but it might be worth a query.

Keep killing the bastards,

GD

While not a patient of Dr. Amato, I knew of him, and I met several of his patients. I see Dr. Luis Camacho. He is also a forward looking oncologist, and I have had what I consider to be beyond SOC. He is also just a great guy and easy to talk with.

Have you thought about Compassionate Oncology in Los Angeles? I believe they do simultaneous ADT with mild chemo. It seems like I remember Dr. A did something similar. CO has been doing this type of treatment for at least 20 years.
