Yeah I had a friend of mine just finishing up two years suddenly has anemia

yes i have had 4 blood transfusions in 5 months

Something I don't recall being discussed in earlier anemia threads:

"Low doses of oral dexamethasone for hormone-refractory prostate carcinoma"

"Low doses of dexamethasone were found to be beneficial in the treatment of HRPC, decreasing the severity of anemia and osseous disease as well as reducing serum PSA levels. A posttherapy serum PSA decline of > or = 50% appears to be a reliable marker of improved survival with this therapy."

Careful. Iron pills can be very toxic! Talk to your doctor! I took wife's pregnancy vitamins, high in iron, and became a stooge. There are other stooges here as well. I dis remember their names. Careful. Stooges can be very toxic!
