Has anyone heard of or had chelation IV therapy for prostate cancer? Not in lieu of SOC but as supplemental?

A food friend Recommended it out of the blue for Prostate cancer. I was just wondering if anyone thinks it could benefit my PC fight and if it could potentially have any negative impact. It would not be in lieu of any SOC. . I was planning on paying out of pocket so the insurance aspect is not a factor. And if safe and potentially beneficial, should I request anything specific. Thx Nal.

Be careful of chelation if you are doing Ga-68-PSMA PET scans or Lu-177-PSMA-617 therapy.

Please explain why and let me know if you see any potential efficacy in chelation

The whole idea of chelation is that a chemical, perhaps EDTA, can bind to metals and solubilize them, so that they can be excreted. I imagine that the concern is that the EDTA would compete for the Lu or Ga and remove it from where you want it to be. I also imagine that the same would be true for Ac and maybe radium.

See section entitled "Beware of MSG and other supplements"

Many micronutrients are biochemically held in chelation complexes (e.g., Vitamin B12, hemoglobin, etc.). By taking powerful chelators, you may be depleting your body of vital minerals.

It has been eleven months since my trip to the University of Heidelberg for AC-225 and LU-177 ( four trips ) I would think all of this is no longer in my system. Agree?

Be careful! The American Cancer Society says of chelation therapy: "Available scientific evidence does not support claims that it is effective for treating other conditions such as cancer. Chelation therapy can be toxic and has the potential to cause kidney damage, irregular heartbeat, and even death."

Thank you. I will be seeking assistance from Dr. Brownstein in West Bloomfield Mi. He is an MD who specialist in alternative etc. and does not take Medicare. Any advice as to when I discuss with him will be appreciated.

Thank you Na. I was on the border on getting chelation but the more scientific information I read along with your comment pushed me over the hill. I have metals and a very high calcium level. Best wished to you and thanks again. - Jack
