Hi and good morning! Have any of you read the Hopkins study regarding Mistletoe therapy along with your standard medical treatment. Thank you!

I have not seen the published study at Johns Hopkins, have you?

clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...

They were supposed to have published preliminary results by now, but they haven't. Usually, no publication means there was no effect. You may want to email Channing Paller, the lead investigator: cpaller1@jhmi.edu

Thank you, TA… still hoping for the results to come our way. These clinical trials take so long!

There is a known publication bias against publishing trials that show no effect. NIH rules require any trial listed in clinicaltrials.gov to show the outcome there, even if not published. University clinical trials (like JH) are notoriously bad at complying and they haven't been penalized, so many don't bother. But if you write to them they will usually tell you.

Hoping you will write and ask - if so please let us know what they say!

in reply toPurple-Bike

Thank you Purple Bike, the back story is interesting… there were many patients that did so well using this therapy, along with their chemo, as it boosts the immune system. They were able to talk their Docs into starting this trial.. go figure🤷‍♀️ Our daughter keeps up with Hopkins, she did her graduate work there, medically illustrated for many of the docs. We are waiting to hear, I will let you know Purple, for sure! ❤️

I have several tons in my oak trees...

So do I, Anxious to know if it will be useful before all the trees die of sudden oak death. So far so good, only a few here and there but the fir are dropping like flies. Mistletoe is poisonous so don't eat the stuff unless you know proper dosing. Might be a good way die not of prostate cancer.

Take one dose every Xmas?

Lol, definitely sensing a mocking here, boys! You haven’t tried anything until you taste a mistletoe club, extra mayo and bacon… delish!

I wonder if a study utilizing poison ivy would be worth considering? Mistletoe never worked for me, I'm still single. 😆

I'm not going to mention j-o-h-n and Mistletoe in the same sentence.
