My dad is is currently half way through palliative radiotherapy on his prostate. He said he's started to see blood on the tissue when he wipes. He says sometimes only a bit then other times a bit more. The radiologist said this is about par for the course at this stage. I suppose the main question is is the radiologist correct and is this likely to get any worse over the next half of his treatment? Many thanks in advance!

Yes apparently it is not unusual. Mine was so bad I ended up getting radio frequency ablation after a colonoscopy a year after SRT showed my anus was a mess. It took years before it stopped bleeding completely.
I had bleeding following radiation. At my colonoscopy they equipped the scope with a laser and cauterized some blood vessels that had erupted. The GI Doc said it’s very common after RT and/or BT. For what it’s worth.
Hillwalker, I remember Dr. Snuffy Meyers used Proscar/Avodart to reduce the bleeding from his high dose RT treatment of his Prostate Ca. Avodart use has the advantage of reducing PCa recurrence. Best RVA Luna.
It is qite common and it may get worse at the end of the radiation treatments or even after they have finished. I have had it, on and off for 10 years but thats because I have had lotsa radiation
