Starting Adt

Again hello from Sweden! My husband is now starting Trelstar, every 6 month. He has already started Casodex 50 mg. He has got cardiac problems, stents. Currently he is taking Broccomax, but also baby Aspirin and a statin. Is it advisable for him to add Natto now? What about K2D3? Thinking of ADT worsening his cardiac disease.. Best wishes to all in these uncertain times!

Did you tell the Urologist about the cardiac problems? He should have used Firmagon instead of Trelstar.

He knows about my husbands problems. Thanks for answering!

Firmagon and Relugolix are drugs which cause fewer cardiovascular side effects than Trelstar, you should discuss this with your doctor. I would take a monthly or three months injection. If cardiovascular problem arise, you can stop with the ADT then. As it is planned now you cannot stop it for six months.

Yes, I need to discuss this again. I asked for a GNRH antagonist, but he said Trelstar was ok. Thanks!

The only antagonist is Firmagon. Relugolix are pills which may not be approved yet in Sweden. A university clinic may get them for you before the final approval.

I assume Trelstar is what your doctor always uses. My doctor had never used Firmagon before.

Here is a study relevant to this topic: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/311...

Relugolix was passed in the USA just before xmas. There is quite a long article on how it was used and how it was compared to Prostap. (the drug used for the past 30 years)

Did you get a biopsy yet? With a PSA value of 16 this should be very worthwhile.

Vit D3+K2 can be safely taken by men with cardiac stent (Coronary Artery Disease) IMO. The best way to take Vit D3+K2 is to measure blood level of Vit D periodically (like Q6 months) and keep the level between 60 to 100 IU. I believe lower doses like 5000 units or less of Natto probably will not cause problems. I will like to confirm about Natto from the doctor though.

Absolutely...Good level of Vit D3 is not only good for bone strength..it also slows growth of cancer cells and prevents severe Covid19 symptoms. This has been indicated by dozens of research studies from all corners of the World.

Thank you for such kind words! Sweden is very snowy right now, but it is getting wet here too due to rising temperature. All the best!
