After sbrt does your PSA drop

I have differing opinions but most seem to state the PSA will likely rise temporarily after sbrt. Does anyone have any input? Also has anyone have aching in areas of the sbrt for a few months?

I guess you are talking about SBRT to metastatic sites - bone? soft tissue?. How long ago did you have it done? Did it relieve the pain after a few weeks?

That's good news. More importantly, I hope it relieved your pain.

Had PSA done this week and before the sbrt my number went to 63 .had sbrt and it went to 57 and this week the number was 49. I was hoping that it wasn't going up again and it did not have been on zytiga 3 months now. Glad it came down some.I don't know if I am tired of waiting for positive news happy for the drop but was hoping for larger drops. Am I being unrealistic? They had told me I had only a 30% chance of Zytiga working since I had been on enzulamide which did not work at all.

My recollection is that it can go up in the short term. At least for imrt.

If you have had sbrt, you should have a physician. What did they tell you?

Why did they administer a psa test? What is their interpretation of the psa test results?

I don't think I had any PSA tests during my radiation treatment. Afterwards my PSA did go down and stayed down for several years.

I had SBRT to an enlarged lymph node. PSA did go down in my case.

I had one sided PLN RT with boost (similar to SBRT) to two cancerous nodes there seen on PSMA scan. PSA dropped by half and then has just drifted for a year. I developed some pain in the overlying muscles and SI joint on that side confirmed as inflammation on MRI. It is very slowly resolving. Presume it is fallout from the Radiation passing through there. More restricted SBRT probably would not do this so much.
