Did your husband get good results from the Lutetium177?

We are looking into going to Germany for Lutetium177 treatment. Omaha now has trials of Actinium and Thorium which are similar to Lutetium, (but are alpha emitters) and we have an appointment with Dr. Nordquist to discuss. We were on a waiting list for a Lutetium177 trial at Johns Hopkins, but he was later disqualified due to previous chemo.

Dr. Nordquist will explain your options well. I trust that you will find the best next plan for your husband.

My husband had a good response and tumors resolved. He remained undectible for 6 months after the last treatment. It's been a little over 1 year now since his last LUT-177 treatment and he has had a couple of radiation treatments to date. Not a cure but he stills feels pretty good.

I hope he continues to do well. My husband was diagnosed in 2005 and has done well on many drugs, especially Zytiga. Chemo, not so much. He is unable to do immunotherapy because has rheumatoid arthritis. What stage was your husband when he had his first lutetium treatment? I assume it works better when the patient has fewer metastases, but I really don’t know.

Your husband has had a long journey fighting this cancer.

Everything my husband was doing 2 years ago was failing, Provenge, Zytiga and Chemo. He was stage 4 from the get go in 2016, please read his bio in our profile to learn more. At the time of LUT-177, he had a number of mets but not to bad, still felt pretty good.

We are doing the actinium clinical trial instead of going to Germany for Lutetium because the MO thinks it will be more successful for my husband. The metastases first appeared in the lungs twelve years ago with very little jump in PSA. There was no big jump in PSA until recent bone mets. The MO thinks my husband’s lung mets could be neuroendocrine and the bone mets adenocarcinoma. We will be getting a PSMA PET scan along with a CT scan. Unfortunately, my husband’s participation in the clinical trial will not begin until late January. Trying combo of Zytiga +Xtandi to buy time. 🙏🙏🙏

in reply to Zolababs

Good luck with this combo . We all are in the Same business of extending life . May this trial help mucho . I praying for good news .🙏

Thank you so much. Every time we find novel treatments that are beneficial, we help the learning curve of all.

in reply to Zolababs

Trials are good for us all .. better also than international traveling if you don’t have to.. right now ... Lay low and love each other . We must always keep hope alive .. Sometimes we need to throw the kitchen sink at this disease . Best wishes .🏜
