Actually I got so confused of the situation of my husband now, wondering why is this happening to him π I don't understand if this also side effects of 2 year's on ADT or something else??
Is this common to everybody with ADT??
He's acting weird to me it's sounds very strange since I've meet him 9 years ago, We always end up of arguing these last few day's π₯πππ and the sad things is after a while he forgot what he said to me so I cannot be mad at him and forced him to remember what he had said to me and made me so mad at him. This isn't fair to me right? But i'm trying harder to understand him all the time because I loved him so much and I feel so sorry for him because i cannot do anything to help π him in he's situation π π We just end up of crying all nightπππ
he is getting he's PSA test these coming Friday so maybe this is also the reason why he is so nervous now.???
Thank you everyone!
Will appreciate all you're response πππ
Special thanks to those who sent me a private message with good advise π appreciated your effort and help brotherπππ

Casey...firstly..Lupron type medicines has a side effect of cognitive impairment and that includes short term memory loss. But, in men.. depression may come out as anger and irritability. So you need him to get evaluated by a mental health professional to see if he has clinical depression.
One more point...If this irritability, anger and forgetfulness is due to clinical depression , it can be reversed easily by psychotherapy and anti depressant medicines like prozac, zoloft, lexapro etc. within a few weeks.
actually, i have told him to ask he's MO for prescription but the problem about him he keep forgotten and he also said he drink too much medicines already so he do not want more meds.
Hey Casey, so I take it he's been on medicine for 2 years?
First I want to give you some credit for being so self-aware and understanding about his condition and not saying stuff like, "Oh you forgot what you said? Well you said THIS." You would probably feel worse when you make him realize he said something stupid that he didn't mean. You're a good woman.
From my personal experience I did have massive mood swings with depression when I was first diagnosed and put on medicine. One thing that really helped me was making things with Coconut Oil and putting it in things like my Tea.
Coconut Oil has a lot of Saturated Fat in it and high fats can balance out your hormones. When I used it I felt normal again and it didn't feel like the world was coming to an end. Don't worry about the saturated fats. The only bad fats are the chemical ones like corn oil and stuff like that.
I apologize for the assumption, but I'm guessing from the photo you're a Filipina? From what I understand, people from the Philippines line to cook. Yes, that is a joke haha. I used to live in Thailand and I dated women who loved to cook for me haha.
It looks like you are in America which is awesome so it shouldn't be too difficult to buy at the stores. I never had issues when I was in Bangkok though.
I wouldn't use a lot of it at first because his body needs to adjust. It will make him run to the toilet a lot.
Yeah! your right i'am Filipina and i really love to cook specially for my husband, and he loved to eat all foods that i cooked for him, i'am not a chef but i can cook healthy foods though.
I based here in the Philippines managing our liquor store and bar in Makati & Bonifacio Global City.
I never been in the US since i marry him, maybe he have someone else there hahaha just kidding, i'm just busy here managing both business for our better future.
BTW i need to force him to try all these options from all of you here let see which one will work for him, and i hope this time he will listen to me or else i'm gonna fire him hahaha.
Small dose estrogen patches have helped me and my family tremendously. I am at two years on Lupron. I added the estrogen at about the one year mark and started to sleep much better. I had been exhausted waking to pee, waking for hot flashes, and taking a long time to go back to sleep. My wife said I was nowhere near as crabby, and I didn't even realize I had been. My thinking cleared considerably. And of course the hot flashes are much better. I may have done well with the venlafaxine my urologist offered, but I didn't want to be taking a drug either, at least before I tried the estrogen, which has the added benefit of being good for bone strenth. I also started taking melatonin that I think is helping with sleep, which helps everything. I wish you both all the best.
Iβm so sorry to hear of the pain the monster is causing. There are so many issues involved here. When facing the end of time and all the pain involved sometimes itβs all about the crying. π’π’π’
Yes I agree with both the estrogen patch, helped me tremendously!!! Estradiol 0.10.
Then if it is not all resolved a low dose of anti-depressant. But you should really go with him to his doctor visits with a written list of questions since he is forgetful and reluctant to help himself, which is part of the problem. You are a wonderful loving wife. ππ»πππΌ
As the others have said, cognitive/emotional impairment is an extremely common SE of ADT, and it sometimes takes a terrible toll on the victim's personal relationships. I remember telling my counselor, "I am fighting for my sanity, but I'm losing, and that's perfectly clear to me. If this continues, I'll be institutionalizable at some point in the next couple of weeks."
My wife eventual lost patience with me, and looking back, I don't blame her; I was terrible.
Antidepressants worked amazingly well for me. I recommend getting a DNA test first to determine which drugs will work best.
Hi π. Sorry to hear about situation. Bear with him. Been fighting this battle myself for 7 years. Meds do weird thing to our minds and bodies. Myself I have a lot of nasty thoughts, pessimism big time. Scariest things for me are panic attacks. Thank God not that often. Crying like a baby over everythingππ» Keep it mostly to myself as I donβt like upsetting family. I believe my weird sense of humour keeps me saneπππ. Hang in there and God Bless you bothππ»ππ»π·π·
Please hang in there. Definitely nasty times we are all going through and Pandemic dosenβt help. Myself I have stopped watching the news, too depressing for me, even though my wife watches it and gives me a blow by blow update. Try not to get upset with her for doing this and so far so good. Even with my weird feelings and moods I still manage to keep the family laughing with my wacky senses of humour and anticsπ. Especially my grandkidsπ. So far so good and pray each and every day for the time I have been givenππ» So be strong and God Bless you and your husbandππ»ππ·ππ»
Kamusta ka..... My wife is Pinay.... So listen to me..... Make him eat balut.... that will help.... When he says something that annoys you... let it go in one ear and out the other. Try to laugh as much as you can. If you have any children make sure he plays with them. Please do not fight. Sega na.....
I started on sertraline for depression and anxiety about a year ago, worked up to 150 mg/day - I feel so much better AND it has been found to help fight Prostate Cancer. Also talk with a counselor and if you donβt connect, donβt waste your time - find someone else who you click with!
