Hi all

What combination of pain medications is everyone on to help control your pain?

Also, any recommendations on appetite stimulants/weight gain supplements?

There is a cold remedy which used to be over the counter about 25 years ago. It has a side effect of appetite stimulation and is used by doctors now a days in elderly patients in Nursing homes to keep their weight from fallingn too much.

The generic name is CYPROHEPTADINE and brand name is PERIACTIN. It comes in 4 mg tablets and is very effective in stimulating appetite. Also it is unexpensive..a few dollars a month. But, you need a prescription to buy it in USA.

Marijuana will stimulate appetite and work with other pain meds to help control pain. Celebrex may help, and can be taken everyday. Opiates if he needs something stronger. Morphine is infinitely titratable - meaning if he starts at a low dose, he can work up slowly to higher doses. Fentanyl lollypops are good for breakthrough pain.

Years ago I was on an antidepressant that turned me ravenous and caused me to gain over 20 lbs. I don't recall the name but maybe you doctor may know of it.
